Publisher's Summary

Damien thought his exams would be bad enough. Then his mother collapsed with a failing heart.

In a desperate move Damien throws himself into the Streamer Contest of Saga Online, the latest fantasy VR-MMORPG. Winning will provide the funds for his mom’s surgery. Yet early betrayal and a close run in with a vampire almost ruin his attempt before he even begins.

Stuck at the bottom of a dungeon with no gear, no allies and little hope, Damien must embrace the undiscovered Occultist class, master control of his new demon companions and take the contest by storm. His plan is simple enough. Topple the most famous player in Saga Online.

Summon your imps. Prepare for battle!

16 Hour Road Trip, Excellent!

My friend and I drove 16 hours to the states and back for a convention a while ago. Was amazing, we listen nearly the whole time and finished the book as we got back. Would definitely recommend as it's a good blend of story telling and video game aspects.

I liked it

I had fun with this book. The game world was interesting and the MC had spirit. I usually don't like the IRL parts of Litrpg but this book made it compelling, the only real issue I have with this story is that it sticks to a lot of the usual Litrpg tropes. Overall I think it's worth picking up.

A great stand alone book!

There was a lot of sadness and wallowing in this book but it was tempered by excitement for the future. Most of this book seems kinda average and meh, ya it was fairly good. But the ending!!!! I was very impressed! I know there is a sequel but I don't think I'll get it. I'm too afraid it will ruin the perfect ending. Scorpio23 is my favorite Character! Occultist is the perfect example of how an ending can really make or break a book.

I Enjoyed It

I enjoyed this book as a light listen. It's definitely not one of my favourites in the genre but I did enjoy how he had real-world problems to deal with while playing. It added something to the book you rarely get with litrpg series.

Note: I returned the second book. I couldn't get into it all with how whiny and annoying the protagonist gets (and a number of the other characters). It was too cringe for me. That being said, I think this one can be listened to on its own as a good book.

Well written, well dubbed

It is well written and awesome story. The story is unique enough and interesting enough to be one of the better pieces of the genre.
