Publisher's Summary

She's a mortal cursed with dark power....

After a tragic accident scarred her body and destroyed her dreams, Leila never imagined that the worst was still to come: a terrifying ability to channel electricity and to see a person's darkest secrets through a single touch. Leila is doomed to a life of solitude ... until creatures of the night kidnap her, forcing her to reach out with a telepathic distress call to the world's most infamous vampire.

He's the Prince of Night....

Vlad Tepesh inspired the greatest vampire legend of all - but whatever you do, don't call him Dracula. Vlad's ability to control fire makes him one of the most feared vampires in existence, but his enemies have found a new weapon against him: a beautiful mortal with powers to match his own. When Vlad and Leila meet, passion ignites, threatening to consume them. It will take everything they have to stop an enemy intent on bringing them down in flames.

Fantastic as expected! 🙂

Jeaniene Frost has a style of writing that is so seductive that it draws you in to the story from the start. Her characters elicit strong emotions because you come to see the them as 3 dimensional and care for them or hate them as the situation demands.
This first book about Vlad and Layla is so good, and Tavia Gilbert's talent takes it to a level that allows me to actually see in my mind the characters she is voicing.
Suffice it to say that I will be immediately starting the next book in the series. ❤

Good story but annoying male voice

This book would have been so much better without this overly affected accent of Vlad’s.

Hours of my life I will never get back

This was not my choice - the book was picked for a book club as a bit of “mindless pleasure”. I can’t really rate the performance because the book is truly awful and I don’t think anyone could help this - juvenile and just poorly written. The author constantly posing innuendos and then immediately explaining the innuendo was not the least of the garbage writing. Possibly written by a teen boy who has never had sex and was raised on sexist stereotypes.
