Publisher's Summary

From Mark Greaney, the New York Times best-selling author of Mission Critical and a coauthor of Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan novels, comes another high-stakes thriller featuring the world's most dangerous assassin: the Gray Man.

While on a mission to Croatia, Court Gentry uncovers a human trafficking operation. The trail leads from the Balkans all the way back to Hollywood.

Court is determined to shut it down, but his CIA handlers have other plans. The criminal ringleader has actionable intelligence about a potentially devastating terrorist attack on the US. The CIA won't move until they have that intel. It's a moral balancing act with Court at the pivot point.

Another great chapter in the saga.

This is classic Gray Man, but with a unique target. The plot isn't anything unique, but it's proven effective for 8 books before this as it does for this one. My one complaint is the introduction of first person narrative when dealing with the Gray Man. It's confusing given this has never been used in this series. For whatever reason, this was bothersome to me.

Good but Weird

Let me explain. It's a good book, it's read we'll, and it definitely furthers us the character's development and the plot of the overall story, but it's just plain weird. It's a book that is in the third person, except for when the main character’s perspective is provided. Then it switches to the first person. It just doesn't work for me. It's a weird change for the series as a whole, and everytime it happens in the book it's jarring and of putting. Not a fan of that. Still a good book though.

Gray Man Series.

Really enjoyed listening to this book. Jay Snyder does a great job. Can't wait to hear the next book in the series.

Great book

Great book, excellent story. I wasn’t really a fan of it being written in the first person tho, mostly cuz the other books were not first person

Least favourite book in the series

I don’t know why it keeps switching narrator views. I honestly would think someone else wrote this book. I hope the other ones aren’t like this because all of the previous books I have absolutely loved. The other books I’ve actually laughed out loud many times. But no this it’s like an arrogant first person read it’s so weird
Jay Snyder was great as always nothing to do with the narrative

Writing Change

I think the author tried writing in the first person. It felt how I imagine reading the Twilight books would be for impressionable youth, made it feel like you were the "Gray Man". It felt wrong. Luckily this, so far is the only foray into the first person as the author switches back in the next novel.

Story is to be expected as is the performance. The writing is diffrent.

Lost me on this one

Loved! all of Greaney’s series until this one. The switch to third person has his main character narrating his every thought and action. Didn’t work for me at all. Also I found the book very slow moving and found the topic a less than suitable choice for this character in comparison to his previous books. Would not recommend this one but highly recommend all of his previous titles in the series. I will give the next in line a try but won’t continue if this change in literary style continues.
