Publisher's Summary

The Earth is changing. The alien invasion brought social upheaval, advanced technology, and an armada of peacekeeping robots. But Alan, a college student pursuing a now-useless degree, cares little about all of this. He has only one thing on his mind: the Game.

A fully immersive virtual reality, the Game appears to be a major part of the invading civilization. Alan can't wait to play, recklessly diving into the digital universe. Soon though, Alan realizes the Game is anything but simple, and the stakes are higher than he ever imagined.

This book is not for me

Yes I gave this book a good review because it really is a good book, however its not for me.

Reasons why I think this is a quality book:
This book is very well written, the plot pace is good, the plot is unique in its own way, the MC isn't someone I could become invested in but the MC is likeable, definitely a good Litrpg in its own right, the story is enjoyable, the word building is pretty much based off earth and common American city’s so there isn't a whole lot the author has to explain. So a very solid book, but not for me.

The reasons why I do not like this book:
- To start the description of this book mentions the MC is of college age which I found is not accurate, I would put the MC at the 13-14 year old range, thats not at all a bad thing, but I prefer more maturity.
- This world is too soft for my taste, and I don't mean gore wise, What I mean is this book is written for young teen readers/listers, this book is missing grit and struggle and darkness and a feeling of adventure. As a result I could not get invested enough to continue this series.

This book is definitely a good quality, but not for me.

Great pace and recording.

as someone accustomed to 50+ hour audiobooks, I was worried that 12 hours was going to feel short. but it was the opposite. so much happens in this book that by the end it felt like a huge saga novel. and the pacing is so good that I felt like I couldn't stop listening.

Dumb MC with an AI

First off I made it 2 hrs in before writing this. I will finish it but it might be a struggle. The MC is supposed to be college age but he acts like a socially awkward 15 year old. Mumbling, humming and hawing, saying "uhhhhhh" way too much. Honestly it seems like he never left his room and never experienced life at all. It is painful to listen to him thinking he's college age so I just changed his age in my head to 15, which makes it a bit easier.
He is beyond dumb but his AI makes the story ok.
I will try to finish this and maybe edit this review.
*Finished Edit*
It got better halfway through. Less painful I'll call it. Despite my complaints it actually was pretty good, although the AI could be the MC...

it's good! I compare it to the Brandn Sanderson.

man the narrator was top notch, the story has excellent pacing the plot the characters the story of all flows so effortlessly but yet builds a massive universe.

don't miss out on this series. I've listen to the frost 3 so far and the only thing stopping me from not getting more is I don't know where this author lives else I'd break in and read his drafts!

so yeah 10/10

One of the better LitRPGs

Great premise, good story, spot on narration, and just plain entertaining. Get it now.

if you like sci-fi and RPGs

if you're into liteRPGs you need to check this series one out. I've listened to alot of liteRPG books and this series is one of the best.

plus the fact that it's sci-fi is refreshing instead of traditional fantasy genres.
