Story
No one is like Daemon Black. When he set out to prove his feelings for Katy, he wasn't fooling around. Doubting him isn't something she'll do again and now that they've made it through the rough patches, well, there's a lot of spontaneous combustion going on. But even he can't protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they loved. With help coming from the most unlikely source and Adam's death still lingering with those who loved him, friends will become the deadliest of enemies and the villains will no longer be clear.

And there's this new boy in school who's got a secret of his own. He knows what's happened to Katy and he can help, but to do so, Katy has to lie to Daemon and stay away from him. Katy knows that the world changed the night the Luxen came. She can't believe that Daemon welcomed his race or stood by as his kind threatened to obliterate every last human and hybrid on Earth. Story
When 17-year-old Katy Swartz moved to West Virginia right before her senior year, she'd pretty much resigned herself to thick accents, dodgy Internet access, and a whole lot of boring, but then she spotted her hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up...until he opened his mouth. Daemon Black is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. It's hate at first sight, but when a stranger attacks her and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something...unexpected happens. The hot guy next door? Well, he's an alien.

I knew the moment Katy Swartz moved in next door there was going to be trouble. Lots of it. And trouble's the last thing I need, since I'm not exactly from around here. My people arrived on Earth from Lux, a planet 13 billion light-years away. Plus, if there's one thing I know, it's that humans can't be trusted. We scare them. We can do things they only dream about, and honestly, we make them look weak as hell. Cuz they are.

The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi-pure-bloods-have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals-well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: Become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures. Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway.

The last thing Dawson Black expected was Bethany Williams. As a Luxen, an alien life form on Earth, human girls are...well, fun. But since the Luxen have to keep their true identities a secret, falling for one would be insane. Dangerous. Tempting. Undeniable. Bethany can't deny the immediate connection between her and Dawson. And even though boys aren't a complication she wants, she can't stay away from him. Still, whenever they lock eyes, she's drawn in. Captivated. Lured. Loved.

Alexandria isn’t sure she’s going to make it to her 18th birthday - to her Awakening. A long-forgotten, fanatical order is out to kill her, and if the Council ever discovers what she did in the Catskills, she’s a goner...and so is Aiden. If that’s not freaky enough, whenever Alex and Seth spend time "training" - which really is just Seth's code word for some up-close and personal one-on-one time - she ends up with another mark of the Apollyon, which brings her one step closer to Awakening ahead of schedule. Awesome.

Being destined to become some kind of supernatural electrical outlet isn't exactly awesome - especially when Alexandria's "other half" is everywhere she goes. Seth's in her training room, outside her classes, and keeps showing up in her bedroom - so not cool. Their connection does have some benefits, like staving off her nightmares of the tragic showdown with her mother, but it has no effect on what Alex feels for the forbidden, pure-blooded Aiden. Or what he will do - and sacrifice - for her.

Another great book in this series. I liked that his one felt more mature than the others, like we've watched them grow up so much from book 1. I love that Daemon and Katy are both bada$$, no matter what they are. In this one we learn a lot about all the species that we didn't even know existed and man some of them as awesome! There wasn't anything predictable about this one, well except they would always come out above and together.
The narration is great, even if I still feel like they both sound older than teenagers.

5++ Origin Stars
The best book yet!
Holy Moly so much happens, Deamon is either incredibly awesome or incredibly dumb and I say that with all the love.
Katy and Deamon both go through a H – E – L– L like they have never known. But they also gain a lot of information I would never have expected.
I love that it isn’t predictable, even having read this series once before I still forgot huge chunks of what happened. So it feels like getting to read it for the first time all over again.
Each book ends on a cliffy and I am coming to find out they are all more intense than the last. I can’t read book 5 like NOW!
I really liked the dual narration; I found I am getting to like Justine Eyre as Katy and Rob Shapiro is totally Deamon. The tone and inflection he uses are exactly how I see Deamon, the self-assured tone and I even feel like you can hear the smirk in his voice. LOVE.
*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

The Series Gets Richer and Ricer in intrigue
In order to appreciate this novel you have to start at the beginning. In Origin, the DoD takes the stage front and center. I will not say more about this; but what is outstanding is the way Armentrout continues to widen the the plot. In the first novel, you get lulled into thinking this is a trite YA romance about aliens, and by this book she has widened the scope and brought many serious issues to bear. She masterfully brings up relevant issues that affect us in society today. If you look beyond her story for her message, I think you'll be impressed with the questions she raises and her opinions she has offered so far.
In this book, Eyre reads from Kat's POV and Shapiro from for Daemons's. This narration is especially potent in the audio book, I am not sure it would be as good if you were reading it. The author's ability to use dialog to move the story forward is excellent as is her character development. I highly recommend the book and I can't wait for the final outcome. If the last four books are any indication, it should be a hit. I hope so, because book three of Divergent and Hunger Games were such a disappointment. That said, on to book 5.

Seriously! It’s Daemon, not Demon!
I couldn’t even get into the story. Every time I was, they would say his name. I’m going to see the author at an event and I’m going to ask her. I have a hard time believing she meant for him to be called Demon. I’m surprised they let that go in all of these.

This series is so fluffing good! I loved the characters bore that i can explain. They are so well developed. Great addition to the series! :D
5 stars
Wow...this was a great addition to the series! I loved Katy and Daemon in this story. Katy is taken captive by a government agency that deal with (aka experiments on) aliens and the hybrids that the Luxen can make from humans. Daemon puts himself in a bad situations and at great personal risk to be with Katy and they find out a lot but it's hard to tell what's the truth and what's lies when it seems like everyone is so sincere while double crossing you.
After a lot of pain and drama, Katy & Daemon are reunited with their friends/family. They're able to escape the gov but the fight brings their race firmly "out" to the public. The story ends with a major cliffy as an invasion force of thousands in Luxen land of planet Earth and seem to have control over the Luxen already there. I can't wait to see what happens next!
I enjoyed this story immensely! Daemon and Katy are so good together in this book. They go through so much and I can only hope that they'll eventually get their HEA. This story had a good amount of action and suspense in it as well so it kept me well engaged. I'd recommend this story/series. :D
* note - There were 2 narrators, a female for the parts from Katy's PoV and a male for the parts from Daemon's PoV. They both did good jobs.

I ♥ Aliens
I’ve enjoyed all the books in this series but Origins is by far the best one yet.
After that gut-wrenching cliffhanger in Opal, I was a little hesitant to dive into this one. It’s a game changer for sure and will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat. Without giving away too many details, this one felt like two stories in one. The first being Katy’s experience as a prisoner by Daedalus and the second the future of the Luxen race and the big reveal (the game changer). The dual POV was a nice addition to this series as well. I really enjoyed getting into Daemon’s head in this one. There’s another cliffhanger with Origins but thankfully it won’t rip your heart out like Opal did. I can’t wait to listen to the final installment of this fantastic series!

Maybe if enough of us chat with audible they can send request form in (you can request a book as many thes as you want) so maybe we will have a chance to see how this series ends!
