Publisher's Summary
While children do need to be corrected when they do wrong, you can’t expect them to know what to do if you don’t tell them.
Parenting can be a scary job. The way your child turns out is in your hands. While their friends and community also play a part in their upbringing, parents have the biggest effect. While nobody can be perfect, you can have the tools to do the best you can to ensure they have the best chance of being a well-rounded adult.
We will go over how to discipline a toddler in a manner that is effective and not damaging. You’ll find that a lot of this is based on communication and love. Within the book, you will learn:
- Why it seems as though a toddler misbehaves so much
- The development process of children
- The common discipline myths about toddlers and why they are myths
- How to come up with an effective discipline strategy
- The works discipline mistakes a person can make with their toddler
- How to communicate with your toddler to lower their chances of misbehaving
- How to set boundaries with a toddler
- The best ways to deal with different types of tantrums and biting
- And much more.
Discipline is likely the hardest part of parenting. It is what can help or harm a child, and so many people have advice on the right way to discipline. While toddlers may be young, they don’t forget things as easily as we like to believe. What might seem insignificant to us, can have a lasting effect on your child.
Discipline has seemed to stay the same despite the change in times and the change in people’s beliefs. Some parents will tell you that they don’t think twice about spanking. Others wouldn’t dare spank their child. Some yell and some try to reason with their children. No matter where you fall right now, this book is going to give you a different form of discipline. You’re going to learn about positive discipline. Despite the name, it doesn’t mean you are going to ignore anything bad that your kids may do. Instead, you are going to try to keep your child from doing “bad” things but focusing on the good.
One of the biggest problems with old-fashioned discipline, and spankers and non-spankers alike are guilty of this, is that people want to focus on everything their child does wrong.

Amazing Book!!
I got this as a required audiobook for my child development class and I absolutely loved it. It is probably one of my favorite non-fiction books, and it's one I still reference with frequency. I have used the methods described in this book in my professional life and have seen tremendous success *especially with special needs children!!!*

This really works!
I've found that a lot of the stories that adults tell me because they are struggling with, are because a bad teaching techniques during infancy. I strongly believe that the concepts in this book will help children to live a better and enjoyable life.

Love it.
This book puts me in the right frame of mind to deal with 3 yr old. After I spend twenty minutes re-listening a chapter I find that my children respond to me much better and I can deal with whatever age appropriate behavior was driving me insane.
