Reno's narration skillfully distinguishes between past and present storylines, making the complex narrative easy to follow.
The audiobook experience particularly shines in conveying the intricate world-building. Hearing the proper pronunciation of names and magical terms enhances the immersion, while Reno's pacing helps listeners keep track of the expanding cast of characters and their interconnected relationships. The production thoughtfully handles the YA elements, including past lives and age-gap dynamics, in an age-appropriate way.
