Publisher's Summary

My best friend made damn sure I knew the rules. His sister was strictly off limits. Until now.

Kali

Growing up, it was always the three of us. Me, my twin brother, Kyle, and our best friend, Aiden. We were inseparable all the way through high school.

Did I picture myself with Aiden from the first moment I laid eyes on him back when we were eight? Hell. Yes. I fell in love with his soul that day. But he was always more Kyle’s friend than mine. And Kyle made damn sure we both know the rules.

I was strictly off limits. Forever.

But now, Kyle is gone. Dead from a freak accident. And Aiden is still here. Looking hot as hell in his grown-up body. Looking sexy AF with those tattoos all over his muscular chest. Sad and in need of comfort. Just like me.

Aiden

Every time Kyle caught me lusting after his twin sister, Kali, he reminded me of the rule. "You were my friend first."

If you want to get technical about it, I was Kali’s friend first, not Kyle’s. But that’s not how he saw it. One rule. That’s all we had between us. Just one. Stay away from my sister.

All these years, I’ve honored that. I never broke his trust. Until now. Because he’s dead. He left us. And being with Kali is the only thing that makes the pain go away.

I want Kali. I want to marry her, and have kids with her, and keep her in my bed forever.

But I want Kyle’s blessing, too. And that’s something I’ll never get.

Pretty Thing is new sexy, brother’s-best-friend romance filled with tender moments, second chances, and steamy love scenes that will make you sigh with happiness!

A must listen for JA Huss fans

If you’ve read or listened to this author’s book the words ‘emotional roller coaster’ will probably come to mind. This is a lovely and heart wrenching story of friendship, love and the inner turmoil only grief can bring. Keep some tissues close.

Heyoooo emotional incest much?!?!

The sec is hot there’s enough of it, 10/10.
Voice actors again 10/10
But this plot for real is beyond skeevy. Obsessed with their childhoods, obsessed with the brother. Really makes the eyes roll. Worth the listen for the shags but be prepared.

It’s okay

I liked that the characters were in their 30’s to often romance books are all about people in their early twenties this was a breath of fresh air.

The three friends were all the best of friends since they were 8 years old but of course the one boy had a secret crush on the other boys sister that he’s been sworn off of.

That part of the story bugged me the fact they they were in their mid thirties and secretly in love with one another and basically only living a half life because of their friend/brother not wanting them together. Until that best friend/ brother dies and the two who have always loved one another find comfort in each other’s arms. (Again this part bugged me he got really drunk before being with each other, a little drinking sure but like 10 shots of whisky I don’t think anyone can make a clear choice at that point)

Then they are scared of disappointing their friend/brother from the after life for being together so there’s push & pull.

Then there’s an interesting app the guy who died bought before he died and recorded a bunch of recordings where certain loved ones can call in and listen to pre recorded messages. This part kinda bugged me yet again because you find out he knew they would be together yet he was the one who kept them apart, so if he actually approved he should of told them years ago so they didn’t waste so much time.

Then there’s the jeep he died in, ya it’s a nice idea what it was turned into but if it was me I would want nothing to do with the vehicle that killed my brother/best friend that’s just messed up.

So the book to me was just okay there was things I liked and then things I didn’t. Oh well

Still intrigued me after two reads!

I had forgotten that I had listened to this one already (not because it was forgettable, I have a brain injury). And I am so happy I clicked on this again. I clearly was drawn to the characters, story development and arch. It is similar to a movie I once saw but only in the sense that it was amazing and makes you wish you had best friends like they do here.
If you are wanting something that doesn’t have any slow or unimportant elements this is a read for you.

Awwwww I'm not crying 🥹

1st: The Narrators were beautiful. I could feel the emotions and they made my heart beat and freeze and come to life again.

2nd: The story is so freaking sweet. It's a twin Brother's best friend romance and starts at his funeral. It's a heart breaker and heart melter. Yes, it's a HEA with adults in the 30's and is a quick easy story. This might be a hard copy keeper not just an audible. It's sweet. like I said I'm not crying 🥹🥰

surprisedly very real on the grief part

i knew the story end from the beginning but it really doesn't matter, either way it was a nice romantic story. what surprised me was the grief stage around it, very close to reality and it did made me cry a couple of time in certain situations

Beautiful and Emotional!

I was surprised at how much I liked this book. It was a beautiful and very emotional love story. I thought it would be a bit incestuous with the dead brother and all, but it wasn’t! It was just lovely!

Nasty goodness

The story is so involving and I absolutely love how everyone comes together. The whole premise of a "Dead Notes" app. way cool. Sign me up. Waiting formore and I already read Booty Hunter. Loved it too. Great work.
