Hi. My name’s Joe, and yeah...I’m a plumber.

Things were going just fine, until I got pulled into this crazy fantasy world by a genie who seemed to think I was this “Hero of Legend”.

Now I have to collect all the princesses of Fairyland, bind them to me using this crazy...uhhh...kinky...uhhhh...“ritual”, and then use their combined powers to defeat the evil demon Chernabog.

I guess you could call this a magical pipe-laying adventure.

The premise of this book is fun: take someone from the real world and stick them in a magical world filled with Disney princesses he has to collect into a harem. Sure, it's Not Disney, but it's close enough - if the princesses were all adults and aware of their sexuality. The main character is likeable enough - a regular guy who's humble and determined. And when we meet Princess Jasmine, errr, Jezimin, she is a determined and likeable Queen. Plus, the book is narrated by a duet, which is a real plus.

So why didn't I finish it? It's just a little too wish fulfillment fantasy. Sure, our main character doesn't get super magic powers just for being summoned into this world, but instead, he learns that every one of the princesses there HAS to marry him to save their world - and the Princess is eager to do just that from the first time she sees him. There's no sense of relationship building, no will-they-won't-they, no harem dynamics - just the fact that they will all be with him. Princess Jezimin simply praises Joe for everything he does and says. It made the princesses feel less real and more like objects. I'm also annoyed at the plot: our main character is ingenious enough to figure out how to make napalm, and our Princess is smart enough to defend her desert kingdom for years, yet... they run out of water while travelling through the desert for a day? Really? It just felt ridiculous.
