Run with the wolves

Winning match up with Abnett & Armstrong and a great look into the inner workings of the 6th legion.

switching of sides

when I first read of the counsel of Nikia I was definitly on the side of the 1000 sun's , but with the burning of Prospero I have switched sides. the wolves are one of my favorite legions to date

Surprisingly good

The book takes a really interesting approach to the space wolves, and tells an intelligent story that isn't just retelling the same iconic stories. It shows a different side to the space marines, and is overall a good read

Classic Showdown

What's not to love about two primarch's clashing over using "magic" Really liked this one, but it was confusing to follow at some points. This may just be the auditory nature of audiobooks and the fact I'm often doing something while listening.... Good book.

One of the best in the series

Prospero Burns was not what I expected, this book breaks the narrative template found in much of the series and in doing so it sets itself apart from “pack” Overall it’s a very well written, with lots of rich characters. It’s now my favorite in the series.

Wet, leopard growl/snarl

I very much enjoy this story, and Dan Abnett’s work, in general.
I didn’t notice this when I first read the book, but upon listening to it, I was struck by the repeated use of the description mentioned above, whenever a member of the Rout started vocalizing.
Not to be a fusspot, because it really is a great read if the Horus Heresy is of interest to you, but it got to a point where I just wanted to cry every time I heard it. I didn’t count, but ad nauseam, fits the bill.
Sorry Mr. Abnett! EISENHORN RULES!

Just ... wow!

The way this is written and narrated is just purely amazing! If you are a Warhammer 40K fan and a fan of the Space Wolves you will not be disapointed, of that I am certain. I would say more but that would take away from the experience.

A great book that happens to be a Warhammer book.

Granted, familiarity with concurrent Horus Heresy events is needed, but the book in and of itself is a fine piece of writing. The opening chapters will be disorienting. Just go with it.

For the all father.

A great insight into the Space Wolves legion. The sixth are not to be underestimated.
