Publisher's Summary

From two leaders of the FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early) movement, a bold, contrarian guide to retiring at any age, with a reproducible formula to financial independence

A bull***t-free guide to growing your wealth, retiring early, and living life on your own terms

Kristy Shen retired with a million dollars at the age of 31, and she did it without hitting a home run on the stock market, starting the next Snapchat in her garage, or investing in hot real estate. Learn how to cut down on spending without decreasing your quality of life, build a million-dollar portfolio, fortify your investments to survive bear markets and black-swan events, and use the four percent rule and the Yield Shield - so you can quit the rat race forever. Not everyone can become an entrepreneur or a real estate baron; the rest of us need Shen's mathematically proven approach to retire decades before 65.

PLEASE NOTE: When you purchase this title, the accompanying PDF will be available in your Audible Library along with the audio. The PDF includes detailed charts, graphs, formulas, illustrated strategies, and the complete appendices from the book, to help reach financial independence and retire early.

“This book wants you to be rich: in money, in time, and in life. You have come to the right place. Kristy and Bryce take you through the process step by step, with actionable things that you can do no matter what your age, location, background, or education.” (JL Collins, best-selling author of The Simple Path to Wealth)

“Kristy Shen and Bryce Leung, in a few hundred delightful, information-packed pages, shows exactly how Kristy went from rags (in China) to riches (retired world traveler millionaire at 30). Their stories are fascinating, told in a no-nonsense style that busts through any excuses. Their precise investment strategies, explained clearly, show you how to both get financially independent - and stay there. And they're hilarious.” (Vicki Robin, New York Times best-selling coauthor of Your Money or Your Life)

loved it!

I found it very relevant and applicable for today's world and realities. I loved all the hesitations she brings up were all my questions as well on how I can retire in my 30s and not go broke. Kristy is a Canadian which I loved - she has examples of investments for both Canadians and Americans which is amazing. I find there isn't enough Canadian content out here in the Audible world. I finished it within days then went straight to Chapter's to buy the hard copy as I couldn't find how to access the downloadable PDFs she refers to in the audio. Despite this, I was happy to purchase the hardcopy book as I want to read it again and take notes!

Best money book ever.

No bulls*it! This book is the real thing. No gimmicks or sending good thoughts into the universe. Just great advice and math that works.
Thank you so much!

Great Book for Canadians

I really enjoyed this book. The balance of facts with the story telling narrative made it really easy to follow

Great Book on Personal Finance

Having sat on the fence (or, more accurately, well behind the fence) for almost 4 decades of my working life with regard to planning for retirement, I finally ran into friends-of-a-friend who said that the book 'Quit Like A Millionaire' was the best book they had ever read on personal finance. These people were real FIRE devotees, so I went ahead and bought the book - and it lay on the coffee table for well over a month before I finally picked it up.

After a slow start setting the scene on their backgrounds, the book really gets going when the authors start to talk about how they deliberately chose their university courses. After that, the book just has great pieces of content after great pieces of content - it's like a page-turning thriller!

I have literally gone from having no idea as to how I would be able to achieve retirement to having a firm timeline to achieve retirement in 10 years, perhaps less. Unfortunately, as I'm already in my 50s, it's not going to be the RE (retire early) part of FIRE but, hey, at least it's Financial Independence. Before I read this book I thought I'd be working right into my 70s, even 80s (if I lasted that long).

I just wish I'd come across a book like this when I was in my later teens or early 20s - boy, I would have done things so differently!

So, if you're interested in achieving financial independence and retiring early, or at least having the choice to retire early, I highly recommend that you buy this book.

Hard for me to listen to

She over enunciates every work and doesn’t speak like she’s telling her story, more so trying to pronounce every word with a space in-between.

Great book for FI!

Loved the reading of this book by the author, very passionate and extremely well researched. However, I did not always agree with every FI tactic discussed (which is to be expected). I don't agree with not following your passion until you are completely financial independent. but otherwise all the tips and tricks to saving on taxes, which accounts to invest in and finding your FI number were extremely helpful for a beginner investor. Gave me the motivation to continue my FI path!

Excellent guide to wealth

Kristy and Bryce's journey to wealth is compiling and so doable. I will get my children relatives on that bandwagon.

Entertaining and educational

This book has some really interesting approaches to finance, and an interesting look into another culture.
I certainly won't apply all the principles directly, but thought provoking.

Good job Kristy and Bryce

I wish I read this book 40 years ago. I will be passing it along to both my children. It will give them a fighting chance in this screwed up world. I especially like the end, it’s a book about hope and realizing your goals.
