Fantastic

I’ve been on a huge Dan Abnett kick and this might be one of his best books period.

Warhammer classic

Alongside Eisenhorn, Ravenor is a suspenseful investigation series that Dan Abnett nails again. Would recommend.

When is the next novel!!!

I was just really getting into this story and it ended!!! I see why others like Dan Abnett. I can’t say I loved Toby Longworth women’s voices but liked that the women were strong and independent. Yes I would listen to another novel by Abnett. Can’t wait!!!

Better than Eisenhorn

I didn't think this would be better than Eisenhorn, but boy was I wrong. The characters are brilliantly written, and Ravenor's perspective was very interesting. I enjoyed it throughout.

For those wondering about Christia's two star review, her assertion that Abnett was somehow fixated on cleavage, or painting characters in a stereotypical light, or has poor world building, is completely false. Breasts are mentioned a total of three times (yes, I was counting) in the whole book. Two are when Patience is seducing someone, and one is when Nail is describing an ex. All times the descriptions are tastful and relevant to what is going on. Totally not offense or sexist. I don't know what the problem is, the story is completely engaging and well written. The world building is superb. I suspect the reviewer is wound a little too tight, and probably hasn't read a 40k book before.

Anyway, if you're reading this and wondering about Ravenor because of the 2 Star review, don't worry, it's a great book that you will definitely enjoy if you like sci-fi or 40k.

Great book

Abnett really delivers with the Ravenor books. Top notch. You’d be hard pressed to find someone that disagrees.

Fantastic, albeit slow start to an epic trilogy

Ravenor is a character hailing from the Eisenhorn saga and in many ways it's perhaps worthwhile to cover that trilogy of books first as it sets a great foundation for the universe if you're not familiar with 40K. I found the start to this series a little slow and had to adjust at how it makes Ravenor's team the real focus of the novel, once you realize that, it takes a whole different dimension.
Toby Longworth and Dan Abnett at top of their craft with their trilogy. I could tell they have both learned a great deal over time, Toby's vocal changes and accents on display here, an excellent job separating such a diverse cast of men and women. Dan's ability to write Ravenor, a character is so different compared to every other Black Library 40k novel I've read, he's quite unique in terms of how he engages with the outside world due to his both abilities and disabilities.I believe Dan Abnett did an amazing job of bringing the psychic world to life. Listen to it. Couldn't ask for more. Except perhaps for more books.

Good story, great voice acting!

Ravenor continues the side story in the Inquisitor series by following the crew of the psy-strong pupil of famed Inquisitor Eisrnhorn, Inquisitor Guideon Ravenor who hunting down a new evil.

Another good book by Dan Abnett and like the Eisenhorn series is wonderfully narrated by Toby Longworth.
