Not quite the right tone

Sorry, I am sure it is hard to get the tone and expression that would go well for most people, but I found the expression of the reader distracting, somewhat pretentious in this reading. Such a great resource and I had hoped to use daily in audio version.

I read the Bible in a Year!

I really enjoyed this audibook version of the Bible.
I liked how it was read in order of timeline.
As someone who has heard the Bible stories group up my whole life, I had never actually read the Bible straight through, nor have I read it in its entierty. It was nice to hear the "stories" in order of when they would have occured, it gave so much more clarity.
Of course, when you hit the New Testemant you hear the different accounts of the gosples, so you will hear the same "story" read 3 times. When this occurred, I did find that the narrator changed his tone of voice so it helped knowing that it was a different version; however, his tone did not always match the mood of the story in question. Not a big deal.
The narrator read at a fairly decent pace - I did speed him up during the genologies, and he was still clear enough to understand.
The other thing I really liked is that the readings were 7- 15 minutes per day. The longest one was 30 minutes, June 9th -(Psalms 144 I believe).
I would recommend this version to anyone who wants to read the Bible in a year and have a better understand of when the events actually occured.

Very well organized one-year Bible with great narration

Totally enjoyed this audible version of the one-year Bible. Although I didn’t listen everyday for the day’s content, I really like to have that anchor of calendar days knowing how far ahead or behind. The narrator, Todd Busteed, is one of the best. He has the
perfect voice, soothing and firm at the same time. I will listen again in the new years.

Don’t care for the reader’s style

He reads in a mocking sing-song. I could take it for a while and it might even be appropriate for the book of Job, but I can’t listen to him anymore!!

Disappointing

Did not find the tone of the soaker enjoyable at all, but off-putting. I love the Scriptures. I love to read the Bible and to listen to it being read. But I felt there was a disconnect between the text and the tone used to deliver it. It lacked pause and grace for my taste. Did not meet my expectation. I'm disappointed because I have that Bible in print and enjoy reading it, and was excited to also have it I think audio. But I rather rely on the free versions available online.
