Excellent series!

Jess continues her struggles in this exciting adventure. You never guess what going to happen next! You suspect everyone of being responsible for something sinister...but who is the real evil hidden amongst these characters??

Repeats worst aspects of 1st volume, sorry not a winner

I enjoyed the 2nd book in the series. It was a complete story, well paced and compelling. I was so-so about the 1st. It was meandering and largely unsatisfying. This 3rd installment sets a new low bar. Long stretches of pointless narrative. Lost the thread of the story repeatedly but it is so not compelling that I never bothered to rewind to recapture what I missed. No noticeable impact on the listening experience. And it also is not a complete story, ending with a high stakes escape and a cliffhanger question. What is up with this author? He clearly knows how to write great novels but apparently chooses not to in some pretty significant instances, like 2 out of 3 of this series. I will listen to the last one, but am starting as background noise, so if it catches me I'll adjust my listening posture but otherwise it can just ramble on while I work.

I can’t listen anymore

Jessica has completely turned me off this series. Too bad, as it started pretty good. Now this selfish, self absorbed character is just a complete turn off

Tremendously Annoying Character

I can understand why this entire 4-book series is being offered free from Audible. It has an interesting post-apocalyptic premise, but the main character is presented as a despicable, narcissistic, one-legged, ex-marine superwoman, with serious control issues. Her every utterance is cringe-worthy. Over and over again her assumptions and decisions prove to be in error and result in sequential disasters. With all the M15s and Kalashnikovs littered throughout the plot I was hoping someone would turn one in her.
