After two bloody years of war....
....America has united for one common cause.
The global conspiracy to dismantle the country is finally exposed. The perpetrators of these heinous acts are being hunted down and dealt with by JSOC and the CIA Special Activities Division.
Knowing the war is lost, the Chinese begin to implement a complete scorched earth policy across large swaths of America. Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California are becoming complete wasteslands. A genocide of biblical proportions is taking place and the death toll climbs into the millions.
America responds with unparalled wrath as it unleashes a new superweapon.
The countries of Britain, Poland, Romania, Columbia, Japan, and India join America in waging total war on China.

It was fine
I enjoyed the series but I felt like this book sort of fizzled. It was a good story but just lacked the impact of the previous books. Course it was also quite realistic to what would potentially happen when you have to rebuild again, which is never really something Hollywood would tell you about haha.

This is the fifth and final installment of a very long 5-part book. It cannot be read as a stand-alone. From the beginning of the series, they capture my attention -- one simply must disbelieve or life in the USA can't go on like it has. This final part completes an arc of plot that is one possibility of the last election's outcome. Beware.

Loved this series!
The storylines are intriguing and intense. The parallel between current events and the stories in this series can be, at times, frightening. The only negative I can bring to the table is the occasional mispronunciation of certain military terms. Although the term for helicopters is spelled “helo or helos” the narrator missed the correct pronunciation by speaking the words as “hello or hellos”. The correct pronunciation is actually “heel-o or heel-os”. There are one or two more terms which were misread, but it did not kill the series for me. I would like to read more of this type of work from the authors.

Brilliant to incorporate a piece of history into the scenario
Adding President Carter’s legacy for his involvement in Habitat for Humanity was a great touch in this book. A nugget from the past if you will. Each chapter had a totally unexpected turn. Abundant unclaimed waterfront property on the water? Building your dream home? Unencumbered, what a life.

Needed to be fact checked.
Some of the places and military jargon were either mispronounced our completely wrong. Seems the book was edited way too fast. However, good series.
