Description
In America, demons wear white hoods.

A Worthwhile Listen
Neat concept, executed well. Likeable characters with a good bit of depth, and a nicely-paced plot that flows nicely, despite the odd flashback/interlude. Excellent narration makes the story all the more immersive.

Ring Shout
Daaaamn, this was an excellent listen. The entire story is well constructed with some of the most interesting characters I've ever had the pleasure of encountering. Women with distinct combat skills hunt "Ku Kluxes", which are non human monsters pretending to be human. Raises a lot of good questions about justice vs revenge.
And hoooooooly shit, the reader. The reader, sorry, *performer* for the audiobook strode past my standards and made herself a platform an Olympic size swimming pool away from my old standards. Channie Waites sings, has distinct character voices, hits every sound effect, and generally made me feel like a friend was telling me her own story. I can't say enough good things about her.

If you enjoyed Arkham County you'll enjoy this too
Set between the wars in Macon Georgia, it recasts the monsters of racism as actual monsters, with a great cast of characters. I really enjoy finding books by Black writers of cosmic horror, and am eager for more.

Good story. Great performance
The multitalented narrator sings, croons, and squeals! Amazed performance. Great story too: supernatural KKK feeds on hate!

Monsters in every sense of the word
What a good audiobook! This was the perfect mix of historical fiction and horror. In this world, racists are more than just morally monsters; they are monsters with teeth that need to be slayed. And this group of strong black women are here to deliver.
