Story
Conquering dungeons and using them to grow has long been the most efficient way to become a powerful adventurer. The only thing keeping the process from being easy is the Beasts that inhabit these places. Questions plague those entering this particular place of power: Where do the ‘rewards’ of weapons, armor, and heavy gold coins come from? Why is a fluffy bunny charging at me? For abyss-sake, why are there so many monsters? Cal has all of the answers to these age-old questions for a very simple reason. He is a Dungeon Core, a soul forced against his will into a magical stone.

Accidentally murdered by a cleric in another universe during a botched resurrection, Arnold, a semi-pro gamer, wakes upon an altar to find himself incarnated into the overweight body of a farmer who could have been his fatter twin. He’s not the hero. He’s not the villain. He’s certainly not the chosen one who is there to save the world. He’s a clerical error. It could be a bad joke, but apparently, it happens so often that they have a standard procedure for returning you.

Publisher's Summary
The decision to start a new life is never an easy one, but for Joe the transition was far from figurative. Becoming a permanent addition to a game world, it doesn't take long to learn that people with his abilities are actively hunted. In fact, if the wrong people gained knowledge of what he was capable of, assassins would appear in droves.
In his pursuit of power, Joe fights alongside his team, completes quests, and delves into the mysteries of his class, which he quickly discovers can be practiced only in secret. Ultimately, his goal is to complete every mission, master every ability, and learn all of the world's secrets. All he has to do is survive long enough to make that happen.

Great book well read
I truly enjoyed this book, great concepts and well performed.
I’m not sure if this links into the dungeon series but it feels like it does in some way. Either way it’s a great start to a new series.

Amazing Litrpg book
I loved it. The first few chapters were a little slow, but it picked up and never stopped. The narrator wasn't my favorite, but it was still easy to listen too. Great story, characters, and left me wanting more.

Very nice
At first I was interested because the main character is a combat medic in the army. It's the second LitRPG series I start and at first I wasn't sure. It's a slow start to a slow burn, setting up what the game is like, the different aspect and all. But I smiled at the couple last chapters from what was happening! The descriptions and everything are very good, the narrator was a bit to get used to at the beginning, his voice being very deep and sometimes I had to raise the volume. But all and all, great first book! I'm so happy that there's 5 more to listen to!!

Discounting the, in all honesty, slightly silly beginning this is a very well-written and thought-out LITRPG, a rarity in its genre. The jumping is also a bit silly but still a very good listen all the way around.

No sound /volume leveling
Good story. Narrator is great with character voices but the continual whispering, then yelling, then normal voice repeating cycle is impossible amd uncomforable to listen to in most situations I can think of. As another reviewer said - if he held out for more money, I'm hoping they were smart enough to save their listensers screaming headaches by using sound leveling. M ay not finish this one and if the next one is the same then, big nope.
