What the critics say

"New Moon will more than feed the bloodthirsty hankerings of fans of the first volume and leave them breathless for the third." (School Library Journal

"Bella's dismay at being ordinary (after all, she's only human) will strike a chord even among girls who have no desire to be immortal, and like the vampires who watch Bella bleed with 'fevered eyes', teens will relish this new adventure and hunger for more." (Booklist

Amazing story

I am a huge fan of the books I have personally read them 6 times. I figured audiobooks would be great so I could hear the story again while performing daily tasks and running errands. I still love the story but I'm not a fan of the narrator she reads the story as if everyone has an attitude problem, it sounds rude and sometimes aggressive. It would have been much better if it was read as more relaxed and easygoing/playful. Either way I wanted it read to me so, you get what you get.

great book

The woman who reads the book has an attitude that doesn't fit well with the characters

Jacob vs Jacup

It kind of annoys me how the narrator says, "Jacup," with a P. Otherwise, it's a fine performance.

Narration was lacking

I know the story well, I’ve read the books, seen the movies… Over and over. The narration here is sorely lacking, sadly. The main character sounds more like a man, than the men’s voices do. She makes Jacob‘s voice sound like a three-year-old boy. I will admit that the narration is better than it was in twilight, though.

Good book but one thing

I finally started reading the series after so many years, book is good. It might be a personal thing but Bella is so not self aware it makes me mad. And low key kinda a bad friend. But that might just be me

ugh

I love these books, always have l. but this narrator infuriates me, she doesn't portray Jacob or Charlie well, the emotions don't come through properly. and sometimes her voice is just terrible and if you don't know the book you wouldn't know she changed characters

Second book narrated better than first

Not near the quality of the Harry Potter narration. More emotion in new moon than the previous book which was flat. The story is good. I just accept that someone is reading the book to me. The narration of edwards side of the story is horrible. I can’t finish it. Like a forty year old man speaking like a Vulcan is narrating. Makes the story so painful to listen to. I’m hoping Ilyana performances keep improving

narrator is pretty annoying

I'm not sure I'll be able to listen to the entire thing because she keeps pronouncing Jacob as Jacup. it's driving me nuts. also, her voice when narrating the men's parts is incredibly silly

Good story but bad narration

Narrator talked like the girl was a 12 year old! She’s 18! I enjoyed the story but the narrator was bad. Wrong tones at the wrong times, made her sound immature and like a little girl.

Good story, awful narrator

Story told all wrong, wrong tones, cheesy voices, made everything sound almost satirical - really annoying. Not fun to listen to but the story was good to be read out loud.
