Publisher's Summary

She's about to make a deal with the college bad boy....

Hannah Wells has finally found someone who turns her on. But while she might be confident in every other area of her life, she's carting around a full set of baggage when it comes to sex and seduction. If she wants to get her crush's attention, she'll have to step out of her comfort zone and make him take notice, even if it means tutoring the annoying, childish, cocky captain of the hockey team in exchange for a pretend date.

...And it's going to be oh so good.

All Garrett Graham has ever wanted is to play professional hockey after graduation, but his plummeting GPA is threatening everything he's worked so hard for. If helping a sarcastic brunette make another guy jealous will help him secure his position on the team, he's all for it. But when one unexpected kiss leads to the wildest sex of both their lives, it doesn't take long for Garrett to realize that pretend isn't going to cut it. Now he just has to convince Hannah that the man she wants looks a lot like him.

Love this book

I loved this book so much!! My favourite one from Elle Kennedy so far! But the woman’s voice was so distracting. She sounds like she’s a 60 year old woman. Not the right voice for this book! The mans voice was perfect!

Good story

it's a great book and story. the female narrator is not great, her monotone voice didn't match how Hannah sounds in my head so it was a bit grating. the male narrator is fantastic though. but the plot is fun, romantic and a good read.

Why this woman?

The female narrator’s voice did take me out of this. Really wish it was someone else. Just didn’t fit at all. The book is just ok - kind of boring and cliche but if you want just a basic escapism type romance set in college then you might like it. If I’d read when I was a teen, I probably would have like it more.

Spicy but disappointing narration

I really liked this book. It’s funny, endearing, talks about trauma and the importance of moving forward from it and spice! The only issue I had with the audio book and I think the main issue everyone has is with the female narrator. I really enjoyed the male narrator. I could tell he was putting real emotion into Garrett and it made him feel real. But Hannah sounded monotone majority of the time. The narrator didn’t add any character or emotion in her narrations. I ended up dreading every Hannah chapter which sucked because I really enjoyed her witty and charismatic character, but the narrator ruined it for me.

Great book, wrong female voice!

I loved this book but I feel like the women’s voice doesn’t fit the character and the age and setting. I don’t expect to have the story be read by a 17 year old girl but at least would like to feel like the voice could fit that of an actrice playing the role in the movie adaptation. The males voice was perfect and fit really well with the voice I thought Garrett would have but Hannah’s voice should’ve sounded younger. But the female voice still did a great job it’s just the casting wasn’t on point.

Great story

Loved this story when I read it so had to get the audio, however, the female narrator is meh. I had to listen at 1.2x because I found her too slow and felt overall it was just off for the character. The male narrator did a good job and made it worth listening to.

Not what I expected

I was thinking on writing a whole paragraph on how emotional yet light heart this book is but I would say is this book was a surprising mixes of romance, comedy and serious topics for a college romance! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did 🥰

Male Narrator Saves It

I read this book first, and I was excited to listen to a duet narration. I should have sampled it first. The female narrator is terrible. Why her? She sounds nothing like how I imagined Hannah, and honestly, she sounds nothing like a 20-year-old college student. She sounds like a 50-year-old kindergarten teacher. The narration is monotone and some of her line deliveries are so unnatural and awkward. Also she made Allie sound like a bimbo. Frustrating to say the least. The male narrator, on the other hand, is fantastic. One of the best I’ve heard, and I found myself wishing he was narrating the whole book. I sped through the Hannah chapters so I could get to his chapters. I definitely won’t be downloading the other Briar U books if the female narrator is doing them. Super disappointing.

Woman’s voice is terrible for this book.

I KNOW the story is going to be amazing but I’m fighting to get through the woman’s chapters. She sounds much older than the character and she is so “one toned” it nearly puts you to sleep. Can they please re-do this with a better woman reader?

Horrible female voice.

I don’t know how this female got into narrating books because her voice is awful. I tried to give it a solid chance for the books sake, made it to chapter 3 (only made it that far due to the males voice) and now will be returning it.
