Story
A young, naïve but ultimately courageous hedge knight, Ser Duncan the Tall towers above his rivals—in stature if not experience. Tagging along is his diminutive squire, a boy called Egg—whose true name is hidden from all he and Dunk encounter. Though more improbable heroes may not be found in all of Westeros, great destinies lay ahead for these two . . . as do powerful foes, royal intrigue, and outrageous exploits. Featuring more than 160 all-new illustrations by Gary Gianni, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is a must-have collection that proves chivalry isn’t dead—yet.

The Zombie War came unthinkably close to eradicating humanity. Max Brooks, driven by the urgency of preserving the acid-etched first-hand experiences of the survivors from those apocalyptic years, traveled across the United States of America and throughout the world, from decimated cities that once teemed with upwards of 30 million souls, to the most remote and inhospitable areas of the planet.

Story
In the world of A Song of Ice and Fire, the ice dragon was a creature of legend and fear, for no man had ever tamed one. When it flew overhead, it left in its wake desolate cold and frozen land. But Adara was not afraid. For Adara was a winter child, born during the worst freeze that anyone, even the Old Ones, could remember. Adara could not remember the first time she had seen the ice dragon. It seemed that it had always been in her life, glimpsed from afar as she played in the frigid snow long after the other children had fled the cold.

Sweet Children’s Book

Publisher's Summary
It is a tale in which brother plots against brother and the dead rise to walk in the night. Here a princess masquerades as an orphan boy; a knight of the mind prepares a poison for a treacherous sorceress; and wild men descend from the Mountains of the Moon to ravage the countryside. Against a backdrop of incest and fratricide, alchemy and murder, victory may go to the men and women possessed of the coldest steel...and the coldest hearts. For when kings clash, the whole land trembles.
What the critics say
Locus Award, 1999
"A truly epic fantasy.... The novel is notable particularly for the lived-in quality of its world, created through abundant detail...for the comparatively modest role of magic...and for its magnificent action-filled climax.... [Martin] provides a banquet for fantasy lovers with large appetites." (Publishers Weekly)
"Fans of epic fantasy should appreciate this lavishly detailed sequel to A Game of Thrones." (Library Journal)
"Dotrice's range of vocal tones, from gravelly and commanding to silkenly dangerous, creates a mood of insistence that holds the listener captive throughout the epic story." (AudioFile)
"Grabs hold and won't let go. It's brilliant." (Robert Jordan)

wonderful
the performance was wonderful and drew me in immediately. I will say though that the accents got a bit samey in places but with so many characters the narrator is to be commended all the same.

Watch the tv show
Listening to these stories is a lot easier if you’ve watched the tv show. Narration is excellent and helps keep it together. It’s not a series I would recommend if you like to listen for short periods of time and have long interruptions to your listening. #Audible1

Not my favourite
Not a huge fan of the pronunciation of some of the character names. This book is mostly useful in setting up future impactful events. Still worth the read to enjoy a small amount of character growth.

Phenomenal
When I first started this series, I tried to read the physical books. While I absolutely adore these books, they can be quite heavy to get through. I gave up on them for awhile until I got #Audible1 and let me tell you, listening to the audiobooks has been a lifesaver for me! This series is 100% worth reading but if you’re like me and struggled to get through it, don’t give up. Just give the audiobook a try!

Outstanding follow-up
Great continuation of the series. RR Martin introduces more political intrigue, with the battles between Kings vying for control of Westeros. Meanwhile, Danaerys continues to grow in power.
Dotrice turns in an "adequate" reading performance.

Awesome Audio Book
I love the GoT series and this audiobook is the reason I recommend people to the app! I found listening to this audiobook much easier to follow along since the voice actor gave each character their own voice. I find GoT can really bog you down with names and characters but the voice acting in this made it so much easier to understand who was saying what and follow along! Very well done!
