Publisher's Summary

With Unity formed, Gunnar feels like he's created a family like he's never had before. All that's left is to grow in strength, continue building in Edgewood, and maybe earn a little affection from Princess Adeelee. Nothing can tear him away from his friends and newly founded guild.

Or can it?

Gunnar still has a lot to learn about his massive, new world. There are eyes and ears everywhere. Deception can come when you least expect it, and in Eden's Gate, sometimes you can lose control of your own fate.

And Rachel? Maybe she's still out there...somewhere.

Pretty good

The book is good, though there are a ton of plot holes.

Everytime you bind it says using recall will return you to your bind point. Gunner could have just cast recall without a rune to go home.

2nd.. Gunner should have reported Dryden to Dr Winston. A high level npc setup to become a King, with and army and a dragon and world domination plans who wants to capture and kill every player... and regularly tortures them to death. And he's determined to find a way to kill them permanently. Every player knows the masta lands is a perma death zone. If Dryden captures and tortures enough players, one of them will crack and tell him. Then he could start rounding up players, dragging them to the masta lands and killing them permanently.

Also as soon as the Hackers got into game, what's to stop them from betraying the government... that's what I'd do... and they're already anti authority types.

And Gunner didn't rebind when he arrived at the Vale. So he's still bound in the Sands, if he dies he'll return there. And he's been to the Vale twice since he had enough money to buy Heal, and didn't buy it. Also Gerard said in book 1 that he could teach magic... yet he hasn't.

Pulls me in

I really enjoy these series. This episode had some moments questioning the main characters intelligence.... But it worked out okay.

good story, starting to mature, and performer is getting better with the voices, a lot more inflection with the dialog.

Great Book Three

The story of the sands was refreshing break from the forests and plains of the first two novels in the series. It felt a bit amateurish though the way parts of the story were written, in particular his reasoning for blaming the elf princess. The side characters though really help the story come to life. They are all quite multi dimensional and no one does anything that seems unusual for their character type. #Audible1
