Story
Mankind has lorded over the land of Illian for a thousand years, building on the ruins left by the elves, as if it were their birthright. A thousand years is a long time for an immortal race to see the truth of things, a truth that has remained unsaid for a millennium - elves are superior. They are faster, stronger, and connected to the magical realm in a way that man could never grasp. Illian should belong to them.

Terrific series from longtime fantasy reader/listener
I can’t believe I just found this series. The only books I have read and listened to for decades is fantasy. It’s really rare to find great book series with nice long lengths with great narrators. This series had it all. Also was an original story not a rehashed story (although I don’t mind a good rehashed story).

Meh.
Narration was excellent but sadly the book didn't really catch my interest. Going to keep it but not sure I would recommend it. Even the publishers summary is kind of lame.

Started out interesting but...
Where to start... Well ill keep this short and focus on the few main reasons why I am returning this book.
Firstly I want to say the Narrator does a fantastic jobs, that’s probably why I was able to make it through this book.
Overall this story just feels flat, linear and boring , I honestly could care less about any of the characters. I will say the author did a pretty good job at keeping things organized as he switches from character to character.
The story does get somewhat interesting but ends up becoming very predictable and resulted in me loosing intery.
The characters in this book are the worst. To name a few such as a self loathing northern princess with a big brooding escort... and don’t get me started on the homosexual relationship between the annoying life marked and stupid prince. I like a good relationship in a book but this one is so cliche.
Or how about the Princess who gives up her virtue only to become scorned and seek revenge only to still love the man she ended up hating and then screwing over.....And wait.....that man who gets screwed over pretends not to still like her only to end up thinking about her non stop....
Final verdict..... this author and series are not for me, I generally don’t gets refunds but this book is a special case. Try this book or not, you can always get a refund
