Publisher's Summary

Audie Award Nominee, Best Teens Category, 2013

Not so very long ago, Eragon - Shadeslayer, Dragon Rider - was nothing more than a poor farm boy, and his dragon, Saphira, only a blue stone in the forest. Now the fate of an entire civilization rests on their shoulders.

Long months of training and battle have brought victories and hope, but they have also brought heartbreaking loss. And still, the real battle lies ahead: they must confront Galbatorix. When they do, they will have to be strong enough to defeat him. And if they cannot, no one can. There will be no second chances.

The Rider and his dragon have come further than anyone dared to hope. But can they topple the evil king and restore justice to Alagaësia? And if so, at what cost?

This is the much-anticipated, astonishing conclusion to the worldwide bestselling Inheritance cycle.

good ending

it's a fun enough book the ending is good the voices for the dragon to still very off-putting for me which takes away from the performance of the overall narration at times but by this point you've gotten used to it
it's a good send-off in an excellent ending leave some options for thought but answers enough questions she feel like a conclusion. that's grounded in the world of reality even in a world with dragons.

Sad it’s over

I read this series as a kid and was so excited when I fell upon them on audible. I loved RE-listening to these books now as an adult and brought back all the same feelings and emotions I had many years ago.
I wish these was a sequel to the series but for now I will leave it to my imagination.

Adored.

I love this book series Eragon, eldest, brisingr, and now inheritance. This book is the end but could also not be the end if Christopher Paolini decides to keep making more books in Alagaësia.

terrible ending

what a frustrating and useless way to end a story that had so much potential. this will be the last book i ever read from this author. between enormous plot holes and poor writing decisions, this has been a terrible read, unfortunately.

Captures the imagination!

I heard about this book through word of mouth. My 10 year old niece loves to read, and so do I. I bought her the printed copies and I listened by audiobook. I’m so glad that I did! The plot, pacing of the story, characters, and writing were all excellent. I liked the last book best of all which surprised me because it can be really hard to find a series with a a poignant and satisfying conclusion. This series was a win!

Amazing book

Christopher Paolini has mastered his voice and tone in this book! It is here that we truly understand the depth of his genius! His ending is heartbreaking when u take into consideration that its the last book. However, now that Paolini is diving back into the world, I believe that we are not quite as alone as we might thought we were!

Excellent series

I listen to this series at least 5 times per year. Until the announcement of 2 new books I often skipped the ending of this book.

The book and the characters are so well written that by the time we get to the end of the series it is hard to say goodbye; more so than with most series. That’s a sign of a good series.

The world and characters are crafted with care and I spend the entire series wanting so badly to enter that world and know those characters.

I can now speak many of the lines as they are being read yet I still notice new things with almost every “reading”, little details and connections between the books; interesting things about the languages, etc.

Do yourself a favour and get into this series.
