Story
For a thousand years the ash fell and no flowers bloomed. For a thousand years the Skaa slaved in misery and lived in fear. For a thousand years the Lord Ruler, the "Sliver of Infinity," reigned with absolute power and ultimate terror, divinely invincible. Then, when hope was so long lost that not even its memory remained, a terribly scarred, heart-broken half-Skaa rediscovered it in the depths of the Lord Ruler's most hellish prison.

Story
Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

This is a tale of sorrow, a tale of survival, a tale of one man's search for meaning in his universe, and how that search, and the indomitable will that drove it, gave birth to a legend.

Story
Warbreaker is the story of two sisters who happen to be princesses, the God King one of them has to marry, the lesser god who doesn't like his job, and the immortal who's still trying to undo the mistakes he made hundreds of years ago. Their world is one in which those who die in glory return as gods to live confined to a pantheon in Hallandren's capital city and where a power known as BioChromatic magic is based on an essence known as breath that can be collected only one unit at a time.

Featured Article: The Best Female Narrators You Can Listen To All Day
When considering a new audiobook, one of the biggest questions listeners have is whether they’ll enjoy the narration style. This is understandable as audiobooks span at least a few hours, and sticking with one person’s voice for that period can feel like a big commitment. Luckily, there are so many excellent voice actors performing audiobooks that you might just find yourself gravitating to certain audiobooks based solely on the narrator’s strength.

Decent Story, worth a listen
Overall I enjoyed this book however, for some reason the narrator changes at really odd times for no apparent reason. I found the Male narrator to be a little dry though he was consistent with the various voices. the female narrator I found to be much more engaging and kept my attention more.

Great build up (and not much else)
Enjoyable but this book was primarily world building. Understandable considering this series has 14 books but it kinda dragged at times, especially considering it feels very familiar to many other fantasy series. The sequels are vastly more interesting and this book succeeds in hooking you in for the long haul.

Captivating Adventure
Wonderfully narrated, the story comes to life in your mind as you listen. The first in this series, it really sets the Realm for the reader. The characters are full of life and personality making you cheer for some and growl at others. It sets the reader up for wanting to know more about the characters and hear what's to come.

don't let the one star fool you
I almost didn't listen to this because of a single one star rating. Don't listen to it. This book is the first in a massive series, it takes patience. but once you are enveloped you will be unable to put it down. Absolutely worth the time.

Annoying naration
I read The Wheel of Time years ago but have since discovered audible. This audible is a waste, I have tried and tried many times, changing the speed. I have given up. I can not enjoy this most wonderful book due to the narration. The reviews on Michael Kramer are very good, so I am confused. Is it just me? I've listened to over a 100 audible books and have not had this issue. Frustrating since this is not a book that I just purchased on a whim. From now on I will be trying the samples before purchasing. Please be careful before purchasing, grating narration.

One of my fav series...But least fav performances
The levels of creativity, attention to detail and descriptive narrative are simply to die for in this series but I feel like these two readers unintentionally but ultimately butchered it. You have to be an absolute fan of Robert Jordan to carry it through the thoroughly unimaginative but somehow still overly dramatic performances of pretty well every character in here.
