Publisher's Summary

Now an original series starring Rosamund Pike as Moiraine!

Since its debut in 1990, The Wheel of Time® by Robert Jordan has captivated millions of readers and listeners around the globe with its scope, originality, and compelling characters.

The Wheel of Time turns and Ages come and go, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth returns again. In the Third Age, an Age of Prophecy, the World and Time themselves hang in the balance. What was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under the Shadow.

The seals of Shayol Ghul are weak now, and the Dark One reaches out. The Shadow is rising to cover humankind.

In Tar Valon, Min sees portents of hideous doom. Will the White Tower itself be broken?

In the Two Rivers, the Whitecloaks ride in pursuit of a man with golden eyes, and in pursuit of the Dragon Reborn.

In Cantorin, among the Sea Folk, High Lady Suroth plans the return of the Seanchan armies to the mainland.

In the Stone of Tear, the Lord Dragon considers his next move. It will be something no one expects, not the Black Ajah, not Tairen nobles, not Aes Sedai, not Egwene or Elayne or Nynaeve.

Against the Shadow rising stands the Dragon Reborn....

What the critics say

"The Wheel of Time...is a fantasy tale seldom equaled and still less often surpassed in English." ( Chicago Sun-Times)
"Jordan has a powerful vision of good and evil - but what strikes me as most pleasurable...is all the fascinating people moving through a rich and interesting world." (Orson Scott Card on The Wheel of Time)

Featured Article: The Best Female Narrators You Can Listen To All Day

When considering a new audiobook, one of the biggest questions listeners have is whether they’ll enjoy the narration style. This is understandable as audiobooks span at least a few hours, and sticking with one person’s voice for that period can feel like a big commitment. Luckily, there are so many excellent voice actors performing audiobooks that you might just find yourself gravitating to certain audiobooks based solely on the narrator’s strength.

Sanderson has slotted himself in wonderfully

Now first off, if you are deeply in love with Robert Jordan's style of writing, know that you can definitely tell a difference now that Sanderson has taken over. I have been concurrently listening to the wheel of time and reading all of Sanderson's Cosmere books over the last year and a half and I can definitely say that I prefer Sanderson's writing style over Jorsan's (which may be an unpopular opinion). Sanderson has managed to write the characters very well and done a really good job with Rand in particular as well as improving nearly all female POVs which I think was Jordan's weakness (they all felt same-y and annoying...now they're not).

Sanderson has written from Jordan's notes and I'm not sure if the book would have turned out this way, were he still alive to write it. But either way the story has multiple very interesting, exciting, disturbing and memorable scenes throughout, which was a blessing as the previous 5 books were severely lacking in my opinion.

Sanderson was the perfect choice to finish

The measuring stick I planned to use for Sanderson was if he made me feel the same way about the characters. When Naynaeve was introduced in this book, I knew Sanderson was the perfect choice as it didn't take more than 5 minutes before I wanted to box her ears!!

The previous 3-4 books in the series seemed to drag on a lot with all of the details and seemingly useless information that at times I felt bored and was tempted to skip chapters, it was if Jordan was told by publishers to drag the series on for the profits. I was a little concerned when I heard the last book was extended to 3 books but Sanderson showed none of of the slow paced storytelling from the previous few books. This book kept you at the edge of your seat, everything you kept expecting to happen in previous books, but never materialized, poured out of this book and was so addicting that when you told yourself you would listen to one chapter before bed, you had to force yourself to stop after 3-4 chapters.

I can't wait to start the next book, the excitement felt after finishing the first 10 books has returned and the adrenaline is pumping just waiting to continue the story and see what happens

had to ease into the new style, but fell into it.

as someone who has just Marathon 12 bucks straight before hitting this book I could immediately notice the difference in sales as the characters and the plot was reintroduced at the beginning of the chapters. I noticed some subtle differences in the ways that characters interact with each other and in traits they had and reactions. would otherwise be out of place. you have a very subtle but I picked up on them because I had just sat through all the other books from 02 11 before this. once I got over my initial frustration and pessimism I realized that a lot was happening and there was tons of fanservice and plot twists and I just fell in love with this. I think in the beginning it was slow for Sanderson to get into the groove of writing a wheel of Time, but I began 2 appreciate. The world building had already been set up by Jordan and now it was time for Sanderson to use his skill set at develop the plot and set up the foundation that we need to end this story. I'm very happy but how this first third of the finale has been laid out and as it stands I feel that Jordan would have been very happy to know that this is how his world was being concluded

Sanderson is spot on

I've been listening to the WoT series in a row for the first time and was curious how the story would change with the authors. I've read many Sanderson books before, so I had no doubt it was in good hands, but I was still curious.

While there is a minor but distinct difference in the style, Sanderson really knows and loves the characters. All of them feel just as authentic as when they were first introduced.

This book is a particularly poignant chapter in the story. I can't wait to finish the last two.

Amazing end to plot points, well needed character development

Happy to see Egweyne’s character arc develop over the books. Everything she learns is used beautifully in this book. The long wait in salidar was worth it.

Rand also has some great character development that was a long time in the making.

Sanderson showed us mercy with minimal Elayne politics. Caemelyn story line in the last few books rotted my brain. There are also some reintroductions for characters that I love! I’m looking at you Verin!

Hope to see more Matt and sanchen next book!
