Publisher's Summary

In the final book of the number-four New York Times best-selling Neverwinter saga, Drizzt Do’Urden navigates a winding path littered with secrets and lies. Tangled up in his companion Dahlia’s dark secrets, the ties that once held her close to Drizzt threaten to tear as her bonds to his former foe, Artemis Entreri, continue to grow.

Meanwhile, in the caverns of Gauntlgrym, the drow Tiago Baenre enlists the help of Bregan D’aerthe in his quest to destroy Drizzt. While making promises they may not keep, the agents of the elite drow mercenary group hide plans of their own. Determined to stand for what’s right in the Realms once again, Drizzt forges a new road north - toward Icewind Dale. Will his new companions follow? Can he fight the darkness alone? Either way, he knows now where he’s headed - back to the only place that’s ever felt like home.

End of an Era

I love all these books, but if ever there was a book that was on rails this was it. I really liked Drizzt’s emotional growth but it just didn’t feel organic within the story based on how the story jumped around. The rest of the characters were just there. Dahlia and Effron fell flat. Pwent just disappeared…it was not satisfying. The tempo was really off. Big things and big moments didn’t get the care they deserved. Like Drizzt and Gwen never got a moment to reunite. The time jumps were really odd. First half the group loses a year being turned to stone. Then 18 yrs taking a nap.

Some great moments and some really poor moments. But I will be reading the next one.

A fan

I am a big fan of the series. This was the first one I have gotten as an audible.

The story was on the weaker side but can see it as being necessary to setup the next set of books.
The orator was okay. I was worried that he would be to boring to listen to, or would say Salvatore’s words in a way that would very annoying.
That was not the case. He spoke clearly, with excitement when it was exciting. I though feel a second orator would have made it even better.

Love a woman or be beaten by her

Love the story overall, but socially accepted domestic violence with Dalia vs Drizzt was cringe.

Dalia is oof

love the story but Dalia is hinestly the worst. she is give several opportunities to not just be the worst and choose to not take any of them. whats the whole point of the Efrum/Artimis story arch with Dalia just for her to just be oof lmao. just the worst
