A strange body that refuses to obey you; a weird game you can't quit until your contract expires; a world teeming with powerful and very real enemies. The game in which your reputation and faction relationship are the only things that matter. These are the conditions of the agreement Ruslan signs without reading.

The only thing he remembers is that he's been contracted to command a space fleet in a brand-new game he knows nothing about. Objective: to survive for six months. After having made some inevitable newbie mistakes, Ruslan has to rethink his strategy, dropping traditional gaming conventions. But what will it cost him? What new trials and tribulations await him that even the game designers have failed to anticipate?

The story is interesting, a bit harem-like, with precise informations about the battles and ships. I liked the variety of alien species, the political games and the honor of the main character.

Great space fights!

This is a great SCI FI book. I’d give it a five star except for one thing! Warning: plot info after this.
Damn if this talking book isn’t so well put together I actually hate doing this. However I don’t like seeing a child have something horrible happen to them, even in a book. Especially the way this was done to the girl, it’s a $hit ending. They better damn we’ll fix that eleven year old, I’d be really pissed if they don’t reverse what was done to her. This has turned me off the series and I’m not sure I’ll pay to continue. Some people have no issue with this ending so go for it.

This is an exceptionably enjoyable SCI FI talking book, with one exception which I’ll describe below.

Don’t be fooled. If you like the Dark Herbalist series you won’t necessarily like this one. I found it confusing and tough to get thru with very little payoff. It could just as easily be a normal space sci-if book and the whole VR aspects was barely used.

It also ends poorly. Just sort of stops.

Not nearly as good as Video Game Plot Line Tester!
