How does humanity's most powerful individual make a difference in a world where you can't save everyone?

Fresh from his final round Koldaavi Combat Championship loss, Bronwic returns to Earth and must try to complete his Class Quest to become the Human Sentinel and defend humanity from the dangers of Monsters and invading Galactics.

After a savage period following the Mana Influx, Earth's population is starting to stabilize and fight back led by Bronwic and his team who tackle threats no one else can. Despite rapid progression and powerful new Classes and Skills, the fate of humanity is at risk when Oblivion Shroud, feared across the Universe for their ruthless approach to colonization, sets their sights on Earth.

Impossible odds. Overwhelming opposition. Legends, myths, and ancient gods brought to life.

Who'd have it any other way?

Sentinel is the third book in the apocalyptic LitRPG series, The Mana Influx. You can expect a fun, thrilling combination of Classes, Levels, Galactic invaders, magic, Skill selection, progression, game mechanics, attributes, and non-stop action that stretches from London to Atlantis.

I’ve enjoyed the OP-ness of the MC I think in part because it’s a gritty more grounded version of the world where the dark side of the apocalypse is considered and loss becomes the norm vs the typical misanthrope MC who revels in his growth divorced from reality of a most people in their universe. But the story doesn’t bog down, in fact it really moves along at a great clip and isn’t full of repetition or overplaying fantasy tropes. It’s a nice balance and makes you feel like success is truly balanced on a knife’s edge vs success being assured. But the progression of the MC is truly satisfying and just the right amount of situationally broken to make it fun without turning it into a cake walk. Even then, should the MC progress, there seems like endless possibilities and challenges ahead and this book and the world building/universe building really keep the options open. More than anything this book has real world stakes for the MC and it makes for some awesome moments and challenging ones too, this is where a lot of LitRPG’s tend to fall flat being so far removed from even the concept of people or loved ones. It’s wonderful to have an MC who cares about his people instead of the loner MC facing off against the universe (or whatever that might mean).

Great narration. Great supporting characters, interesting politics. And while the series starts down in the nitty gritty, the scope grows as the MC’s power lifts him up from such tedious details and expands the scope of his responsibility into something very compelling.

Really fun series
