Publisher's Summary

In the new novel in the number-one New York Times best-selling series, Lt. Eve Dallas is about to walk into the shadows of her husband’s dangerous past....

While Eve examines a fresh body in Washington Square Park, her husband, Roarke, spots a man among the onlookers he’s known since his younger days on the streets of Dublin. A man who claims to be his half brother. A man who kills for a living - and who burns with hatred for him.

Eve is quick to suspect that the victim’s spouse - resentful over his wife’s affair and poised to inherit her fortune - would have happily paid an assassin to do his dirty work. Roarke is just as quick to warn her that if Lorcan Cobbe is the hitman, she needs to be careful. Law enforcement agencies worldwide have pursued this cold-hearted killer for years, to no avail. And his lazy smirk when he looked Roarke’s way indicates that he will target anyone who matters to Roarke...and is confident he’ll get away with it.

Eve is desperate to protect Roarke. Roarke is desperate to protect Eve. And together, they’re determined to find Cobbe before he finds them - even if it takes them across the Atlantic, far outside Eve’s usual jurisdiction....

Have enjoyed this series from the first book!

I love Eve Dallas books and am always so thrilled to see there is a new installment! I must admit that I had a bit of a hard time warming up to the performance but I do now enjoy how she reads and her voices for each character. Please continue with this series JD Robb! Fantastic!

I'm a huge Eve Dallas Fan

The story in and of itself is enjoyable as always. I have read every single one, in order.

However, the narration was tortuous. I forced myself to listen for several chapters, but in the end just couldn't listen any longer. I went out and bought the book. Read it from cover to cover and will never again purchase an Eve Dallas audio book.

Still listening after 50+ books...

...and that fact should say it all!!
I've grown to love this world, the characters who occupy it, and the narrator who helps add just that...extra touch, it's perfect for 'Robb's' world & it's characters. (If you have the opportunity/option to listen, I would take it!)
Anyway, after thoroughly enjoying this particular book, I just wanted to say thanks to the author and narrator (etc) for rarely -if ever - boring me... EVEN AFTER 50+ BOOKS!! Well done 👏

loved it!

I don't know what it is about this series but I cannot put her books down once I have started new one. Finished this one in a couple days. It's an easy and intriguing listen. The narration as per usual is top notch. I wish Nora Roberts could pump out more of these faster! Lol

It's good

Good book, but not excellent

The story is a bit different from most, which is good, but I just didn't think it was good enough for 5 stars

Performer is quite good, as always

First and Last Eve Dallas

I read almost exclusively crime novels and not all need to be NYT best sellers, or even close, but this will be my first and last Eve Dallas experience. I almost didn’t finish it. The story is really loosely crafted and unbelievable, I couldn’t connect to the characters, and the references to food and drink was oddly heavy, while the rest was lacking in detail. Maybe it’s because I didn’t start at book 1, but I didn’t enjoy this one.

I loved this audio book

My first JD Robb narrated story but it won't be my last. I love the series, but really wasn't sure how it would play out with audio. I was impressed! I hope the same narrator continues with the next riveting tale of Roarke and Eve!

Another good read

For such a lot of books in this series, I’m amazed that it never gets boring.
There are so many regular characters that are used in different stories that you feel you know them all well.
The trick is that they are used sometimes sparingly & sometimes a lot. Keeps it interesting.
