About this listen

Shattergirl, Earth's first lesbian guardian - a brilliant but aloof alien superheroine who can hurl and destroy large objects - is refusing to save people and has gone off the grid. Lena Martin, the street-smart tracker with a silver tongue and a disdain for the rogue guardians she chases, has only days to bring her home. As the pair clash heatedly, masks begin to crack and brutal secrets are exposed that could shatter them both.

The story was great and the narration awesome as always but not the HEA I expected or wanted myself at the end for the main characters.

Spoiler alert.

I felt a little robbed so I want to warn those who expect the main characters to end up together. If I'd known they would end up just friends I would not have used a credit. If they didn't it would be an easy 5 stars.

Disappointing end

So, don't read this if you don't want to suspect the worst part. First if all I have never read a lesbian sci fi book and was so pleasantly sucked in. I mean Abby Craden could read me a cereal box and I'd beyond love it, so there's that. But I totally fell in love and rooted for these two women. Their anger, spice, heat. Their connection. I was also stunned by the important layers in the plot. I couldn't wait to finish and make my review 5 stars plus, plus. My mistake - presuming this book is a romance. It so very much is not and I feel ripped off, misled, and I hated the ending. I am left stunned by my dissatisfaction.

spoiler alert ... Sadly, the ending. I just can't believe it!
