Would you believe this was my *first* Beth Bolden book I ever read? lol and I read it because I was in love with the cover hunk and that it was about football! And now I’ve read 14 titles from her! It’s so fitting that it’s now the last Condor audiobook that I’m reading lol
This title is SUCH a favorite of mine and I have the book nearly memorized so I was REALLY excited for the audio. I’m happy to say that Darcy brought Jem’s smooth swoony charm back to our earballs and gave Murphy a sweet, adorable voice that is PERFECT for our resident Lumbersnack™️. Darcy also gives some wonderful voices to the well known cast of Christmas Falls and it was REALLY easy for me to just fall into the magic and festivity of the holiday vibes.
If you’re new to this story, it opens with Jem Knight, known through the Charleston Condors series as Deacon’s bestie on defense. He’s faced with a season/career ending injury and is approached by his hometown to be the Grand Marshall for their Christmas Festival (a 6 week 24/7 Hallmark Style Holiday splooge) and decides to accept.
While there, he is met with his former bff, Murphy, who has now grown into a delicious 🤤 lumberjack flavoured artisan who carves world famous gnomes, who is enlisted as his “festival liaison” and together they must attend all the holiday events.
Well, sparks fly as Jem and Murphy reconnect and together their flirting and banter is insanely cute and sexy. Jem must then decide if Murphy is the home he’s been looking for since deciding to retire from football. 🥲🥹
