Publisher's Summary

Books 1, 2 and 3 in the SKULDUGGERY PLEASANT series – known collectively as THE FACELESS ONES TRILOGY, Derek Landy's fantastically imaginative series about our favourite dead detective.

SKULDUGGERY PLEASANT
Stephanie's uncle, Gordon, is a writer of horror fiction. But when he dies and leaves her his estate, Stephanie learns that while he may have written horror, it certainly wasn't fiction.

PLAYING WITH FIRE
With Serpine dead, the world is safe once more. At least, that’s what Valkyrie and Skulduggery think, until the notorious Baron Vengeous makes a bloody escape from prison, and dead bodies and vampires start showing up all over Ireland.

THE FACELESS ONES
Skulduggery Pleasant and his wonderfully cheeky and inquisitive side kick, Valkyrie, take us through another journey, which promises to be filled with adventure, dark, mysterious meetings, and classically funny moments.

Amazing story and absolutely fabulous narrator

This series has quickly become one of our favorites. Highly recommended for kids 8+ and adults.

Could do without the end chapter noises

Skulduggery is such a great nostalgic trip for me. i unfortunately stopped before the 9th book came out as a kid, so here I am going through them all again and enjoying myself and the voice of Skulduggery's character all over again! Narration is fantastic and enthusiastic.

But.. i thought I would get used to the end of chapter noises they added in, i didnt. every time it happened, it really took me out of the story. im not even sure what each noise was supposed to represent because they were inconsistent to the tension of the scenes.

This review would have been such an easy 6/5 for me if those end of chapter noises weren't there.

Blast from the Past!

I read these 3 books back around when they first released. Going back, this time with the audiobooks, back to back. It was like visiting a some friend.
The vocal range of the narrator was beyond what I expected. Really made it a cinematic event for my ears.
