Very Important book

This workbook gave lots of examples and explained how the thinking of people with social anxiety leads to feelings of inadequacy. It is an actual workbook to be listen in and filled out by the person with social anxiety. The situations depicted are realistic and the cartoons with thought bubbles can help teens see the error in their perceptions.

Great this book for health

I specifically provide psychotherapy groups for adolescent girls struggling with social anxiety, self-harm, extreme emotions, panic disorder, eating disorders, bullying, and the like. My groups are highly valued, sometimes favored over individual therapy, and very cohesive. I am always looking for material to introduce into my groups. This book is a fabulous blend of exposure, traditional cognitive behavior therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and is most excellent for group discussion and practice. My clients responded very favorably to the exercises and discussion, and I will continue to keep it on hand for future use.

Excellent Resource

I am a therapist in private practice who bought this book for a 13 y/o teen who has poor self worth. It is listen in appropriate language for a mature teen, with quality information on how social anxiety develops. The exercises helped her discover how her own distorted thinking contributed to her negative self beliefs & resulting shyness.
