Publisher's Summary

Bolivar Randy Heart (a.k.a. Brady) knows exactly what he wants next in life: the perfect wife. Raised in a strict traditional family household, he seeks a woman who is sweet, conservative, and eager to settle down. With his well-known protective and dominant streak, he needs a woman to offer him balance in a world where he relishes control.

Too bad the newly hired, gorgeous, rehab addict is blasting through all his preconceptions and wrecking his ideals...one nail at a time....

Charlotte Grayson knows who she is and refuses to apologize. Growing up poor made her appreciate the simple things in life, and her new job at Pierce Brothers Construction is perfect to help her carve out a career in renovating houses. When an opportunity to transform a dilapidated house in a dangerous neighborhood pops up, she goes in full throttle. Unfortunately, she's forced to work with the firm's sexy architect who's driving her crazy with his archaic views on women. Too bad he's beginning to tempt her to take a chance on more than just work...one stroke at a time....

Somehow, some way, they need to work together to renovate a house without killing each other...or surrendering to the white-hot chemistry knocking at the front door.

Cute novella and a subject matter I adore

I liked the story and the characters but was VERY distracted by the “acting” of Lance Greenfield. His clipped, curt, angry manner of speaking in this role was not at all sexy and reminded me of the intense way Christian Bale acts for Batman.

Other than that, I enjoyed this and look forward to the 4th book.

Waaayyyy too dramatic

The story is okay. It's very male dominant. Brady is full of machismo and is a full on stereotype of a hispanic male. Rather insulting, in fact. It's all about him trying to control her because he thinks that's what a man should do to a woman. Him possessing her.

But the narrators. Ugh. Madeleine Maby was TERRIBLE when she did Brady's voice, It was too slow and robotic. Nothing sexy about it.

Lance Greenfield reads his part with so much drama that it made me start skipping through the parts that were supposed to be erotic and serious. My eyes hurt from rolling so much.

Female to Male Voice

I loved the overall performance but had a hard time listening to female performance of Brady. Her rendition of him was so slow and robotic.

Narration not great

The female narrator was great but the guy was not good — those parts were hard to listen to.

Hilarious

I really enjoyed this book. I love books that have lots of humor and this one did. The narrators brought life to the characters; thus far this book is my favorite from the series.

The male narrator is horrendous!

The male narrator does not fit the part at all. He’s voice is so aggressive and goes in and out a slight accent. The other two previous books had the same narrators, which were great. This book was ruined by the change in narration.

Awful!!

This book is awful! So bad I couldn’t finish it. The two main characters scream at each other through the first half of the book and they both ticked me off so much I was really angry and could go no further. Brady is a throw back to the 1950’s because he wants his woman barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen. She has to obey him in everything. WTH? I enjoyed Madeleine’s narration as I’m a huge fan but Lance Greenfield totally overacted the part making me hate his character that much more. The 3 star rating is only for Ms. Maby. Sorry Lance but I’ll never buy another audiobook with your name in it.

Really cute! Enjoyable!

I don’t usually write a full review, mainly, because I have always been one that pretty much knows if it’s going to be what I like from the very beginning. This story was really cute and I enjoyed it a lot. I look for stories like this after I have listened to a more serious drama. For those of you that don’t like a book, let it show at the performance or story or narrator ratings and put the amount of stars on each one that you feel needs to be. Looked at. I look at some comments in the reviews and I see full stars Lon each subject and then the complaining begains. I don’t always have time to read the full reviews so I scan the amount of stars each has and if it’s a bad review I would not guess so according to all the stars! Thank you for letting me get this off of my chest. By the way, thank you Ms. Probst, for another fine book. Thank you to the narrators for they were awesome as well.
