Publisher's Summary

Sometimes you fall for Mr. Right, and sometimes for Mr. Right Now....

May:

Did you hear the one about the girl who walks into a bar and catches her live-in lover kissing someone else? No? You’re the only one in town who missed it. Luckily Alec is there to wrap me up in strong arms and carry me out the door before things get too ugly. And that’s not all Alec is good at. Our unexpected chemistry makes him the perfect rebound guy.

Alec:

I should know better than to hook up with my rival’s little sister, but the fiery look in May’s eyes really turns my crank. She needs cheering up, and I’m just the guy for the job. It’s not like I’ll fall in love. Not even after a string of scorching hot trysts and the realization that we’re good at the same things: wild nights and familial disappointment. I don’t do love; never have, never will. So this is the perfect arrangement for both of us. Nobody would approve, but nobody has to know....

My Favorite!

May & Alec
I think this might have been my favorite of the series, you see May is a character I loved through all the books. This book shows us her struggles but also how much she truly cares about everyone in her life. She doesn’t want them to worry about her. Even if she needs it.

Alec sees May for who she is, he is there for her even when she doesn’t want him to be. He is also going through a lot and is learning what it means to ask for help.
These two together is explosive, love is love people I loved that a Bi we had a character who is female and Bi! It just goes to show you that anyone can be anything and like who they like who cares about the body parts.

Then we have the addiction and how hard it was kind of on everyone and how May has to deal with it but also how she can’t do it alone. I really enjoyed getting to see that she has support. This book just had all the feels for me.

Narrators – I am a huge fan of Lance, his voice oh sweet baby Jesus it just does it for me, I can hear his humor I love it. Seraphine is fast becoming a female narrator I am seeking out she makes it effortless to listen to.

narrators can make or break a book

I love Sarina Bowen's books. I have listened to many of them, some several times and read several in print. The listener/reader can really get under the skin of her characters and for the most part, the narrators chosen for her books have done a great job bringing life to those books. Until this one. Lance Greenfield is just not the right male voice for this book. I will finish it, because I bought this book, but I doubt I will listen to it a second time.

Loved it

There’s just something about the men up in Vermont! I love this series and it’s nice to see all of the characters from previous books. The narrators do a wonderful job bringing the characters to life.

Evolution of May-Excellent Read

I feel like we have seen May grow since Bittersweet. Here is the thing--we all evolve and so has May. This story reminded me that labels are silly because said labels can always change. I liked that this was a story of 2 self perceived black sheep of the family who found the one person that gets them and makes them stronger for it. A story with alcohol or addiction is usually a bit depressing, but I found May's strength to remain sober as very inspirational. I loved Alec's drive to succeed. He felt so underestimated by everyone. This book is another great in the True North series. You cannot go wrong listening to this series. #evolutionofcharacter #LGBTQIA #tagsgiving #sweepstakes

Loved it !!!!

I’ve enjoyed this one the most so far. Griff was my fav until this book. I absolutely love Alec. More people in the world need to be this excepting and rolling with the punches. He showed zero F$&@s about May’s Bi status nor was he threatened by it! Thumbs up for Alec. He also never once treated her with kitten gloves about her addiction but was never callous either. I related a lot to May I have trouble ‘fitting’ other people’s molds and have spent much wasted time trying to shape myself into them. Luckily for May she found someone that liked the shape she was already in and she stopped being so hard on herself.
I seriously enjoyed the performers of this book Lance has a nice voice and he sounds like he has a great sense of humor and is very chill. Miss Valentine not only has a boom ass name ;) she has a slight scratchy quality to a nice low toned voice that is relaxing and pleasant. Couple that with Bowen’s excellent humor and fabulous skills and its a great time to be had.

Heart warming addition to the series

Not many authors would tackle the issues of a recovering alcoholic, or issues with a drug addicted employee, but this books looks at both. The medical situations in this book are not exactly accurate. The inaccuracy doesn’t take away from the story, it adds character and charm.

"It Was Like Medicine I Never Knew I Needed"

Okay, it's official- I love Alec!
This book has to be my second favorite of the True North Series!
May drives me crazy while she comes to terms with her sobriety and what that entails for her overly eager to help family, but oh the number of laughs Alec, and Grandpa Shipley dish out makes it all worthwhile. ** those jokes I swear!!** Add in the beautifully broken romance caught up in a supremely sexy, self-esteem raising festival of feels the narrators bring to the table for our listening pleasure -
A magnificent addition to the True North Series -Well worth the time and credit in my opinion!

Good

This one wasn't as heavy as the others in the series but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
