About this listen

Twenty-year-old Kendele Byers is savagely killed and buried in a shallow grave. She had a violent past, a bizarre, kinky line of work, and the suspect list grows longer every day.

But when another woman is murdered, Detective Mitchell Lonnie realizes that there's something much more sinister afoot: a connection between the two murders. Both victims had received a clue hinting at their oncoming demise several minutes before they were attacked. There's a serial killer in Glenmore Park. Even worse, he seems to be accelerating his murder pace.

Now Mitchell and his partner need to locate the killer before more innocent women die. But when his sister gets involved, Mitchell's focus begins to unravel. Soon his pursuit becomes personal, and the stakes rise very high.

I absolutely loved this book. Very diabolical plot and fascinating and thrilling twisted and turns. Very unexpected occurrences that made the story enticing and phenomenal.
Beautifully written by this Author and I will be looking for more books by him. Kept me entertained and glued to my device on this rainy weekend.
Wonderfully narrated by all the characters who narrated and the voices beautifully portrait in every aspect.
Great job and had me enthralled to the end.

This 'Glenmore Park Mystery' follows the investigation of a murder in a fictitious Massachusetts community that rapidly turns into a hunt for a Serial Killer. Irish author Mike Omer offers a case led by Detective Mitchell Lonnie - an interesting but unremarkable work-obsessed Police Officer (concerned about a sister - rookie to the force - who gets enmeshed in the crimes). The vocabulary/prose is serviceable, the characters are fleshed out nicely, and the book is well-plotted (the multi-jurisdictional task force is hyperrealistic and driven by intuitive forensics/interviews/clues). Omer's work is often straightforward.. but strikingly true-to-life background tidbits fleshing out everyone involved - investigators, victims.. even witnesses and media figures - improve the book.

Similarly, reader Eric Martin turns in a solidly "professional" performance. His diction, timbre, cadence, and tone are creditable - and Martin's voice-acting is genuinely commendable - but the recording is "above-average" at best.

Altogether, I give this recording of 'Spider's Web' 9/10 stars. It was a phenomenal way to spend a couple of quiet afternoons as a free selection.. and certainly worth a Credit when they ask for one.

More Than Capable Police Procedural

The narrator, Eric Martin, did a terrific job given a weak plot line. Finding out why the killer chose his victims was weak and in the end it was unsatisfactory and uninteresting. I have listened to better audibles by Mike Omer but this book makes me hesitant to try another by him.
