the writer really made me experience the Klondike as if I was alive during that time. The Klondike and the stampede of people is a great story. Also found the book through a podcast the writer was on.

I was totally engrossed with the many stories from diaries, biographies and media reports. while Skagway, Alaska and its railroad are the primary tourist access to the Canadian border, hiking the Chilquot Trail in the Yukon is the real reflection on the trials and heartbreak of the Yukon Gold Rush in the 1890s.
