When compared to other Star Wars audiobooks

January LaVoy as usual does a phenomenal job with her narration of Star Wars books, so no issues there. My issue is that, unlike every single Star Wars audiobook being published currently, this one has no music and no sound effects that one comes to expect from a Star Wars audiobook. That's incredibly disappointing that the company Disney Lucasfilm Press used to publish the audiobook (Blackstone Publishing) didn't bother to conform to the standards of Penguin Random House and Listening Library and take the time to add music and sound effects. It takes what amounts to a series of really good children's Star Wars books into a lackluster presentation. So, 2-star rating for Blackstone Publishing's lack of quality and a 5-star rating for January LaVoy's performance and for the stories themselves.

Horrible

I guess this is a kids books not interested. The story development was horrible. I couldn’t stay interested.

No sound effects?

I realize this is a children’s book series but the sound effects and musical cues that I’ve grown accustomed to in Star Wars audio books are sorely missed here. Otherwise the books and January’s performance are great.

Fun for Kids, Okay for Adults

This is a story arc that has its fun moments, but overall doesn't affect the main story of Star Wars. It has a cool tie in to Rebels, but otherwise its just a story that happens while the Empire reigns supreme. Its a fun story for kids to learn more about the universe, but listening as an adult the story is merely okay.

January LaVoy is a goddess and gave a fun performance even without the added bells and whistles Lucasfilm usually adds to their audiobooks. She made the story very fun and the characters lively.

Love the tie-ins to other stories/characters

This series of stories is obviously aimed at kids, but it features a lot of the alien species from the original trilogy, and ties in with stories from the Rebels television series and hints at other stuff like Kessel (from the Solo movie). So it's fun for adult fans too. It takes place very shortly after Anakin's fall to the dark side and the rise of the Empire...because Ezra is a baby...so about 18 or 19 years before A New Hope.

No music or sound effects?!

The story and narration were both superb but there's no music or sound effects like I've grown accustomed to with all other Star Wars books.

Boring

that is the nicest thing I can say about these books. I will give star wars books a chance but this was dull.
