Publisher's Summary

James McGill is sent to the Core Worlds!

In an unprecedented first, Earth sends a message to Mogwa Prime. Unfortunately, the messenger is not met with enthusiasm. Misunderstandings soon threaten all of Humanity. Forced to prove Earth can serve the Empire better than any rival, McGill does his best.

Eager to prove our worth to the Galactics, the frontier war between Rigel and Earth is expanded to Storm World. Circled by six moons, the planet is ravaged by wild storms and tides. Battles are fought in raging hurricanes, and death stalks the soldiers on both sides.

McGill grimly fights and dies in the mud until the job gets done, but will it be enough to satisfy the angry Mogwa?

Repetitive old formula

I really struggled the with this book. I went through all the books and I love the stories of James. Unfortunately the books now are becoming dull and predictable.
None of the Characters grow in any way. They all stay frozen in time, stupid commanders, and borderline incompetent. They do not learn in any way from past mistakes or patterns. Then the idiot savant James comes along and saves the day through sheer luck and stupid characters being gullible time after time.
I don't understand how any of these "Legions" survive. Vain, stupid, short sighted, bad leaders head these legions. Yet James has no problem with turn everything up side down and never suffer consequences. I still don't understand how James has any ranks, he is lazy, undisciplined, vain, sociopath with sheer dumb luck seems to always saves the day, while literally screwing his way to the top and having no other motivations besides wanting to bed all the women he runs across.

Audio Issues

Good book as usual but I had Audio issues, the volume would peak often and then taper down to a normal level.

Great entry in the McGill saga

This book really moves the story along and adds a lot of new dimension to the ongoing storylines. One of the best in the series.

Another fun episode in the series

Onto book 10 and the series does not disappoint. I feel like the whole series is maturing nicely, McGill is a great protagonist, the characters around him are maturing in their development and a sufficient amount of new characters are being introduced. The new twist on Claver is very unexpected and you can see that developing this story line opens the door for many new possibilities in further books.

This is a series that I just snap up the books as soon as I see them and I've enjoyed them all. Keep em coming B.V.
