Summary of High Output Management by Andrew S. Grove| Includes Analysis

Preview:

First published in 1983, High Output Management by Andrew Grove is a management guide based on Grove's 15 years of managerial experience and knowledge as a cofounder, president, and chief executive of Intel. As Grove emphasizes in a new introduction to the book, globalization and the information revolution have dramatically changed the workforce, making people ever more replaceable and the market ever more competitive. Companies must adapt to these changes or face their own irrelevance and extinction. The same holds true for workers and managers. Managers, especially middle managers, are often overlooked in business books and forgotten in organizations, yet they are immensely important not only to businesses but to society more broadly. In order to survive and to thrive in their careers, managers must constantly enhance their value by learning and adapting to a changing, often unpredictable business environment....

A summary? really? garbage.

okay. my fault. It says summary in big bold yellow letters. My bad for not paying attention while purchasing a book while walking to work. why would I want an audiobook of a summary I could read in 5 minutes? also, why even let a user waste a credit on a $3.0? remove this nonsense from available audiobooks. garbage.

Superficial

What disappointed you about Summary of High Output Management by Andrew S. Grove | Includes Analysis?

It's a summary of the of content, not the substance behind the content. I realize it's an extremely unabridged version, but it was pretty much useless. Paraphrasing, "Andy uses charts and diagrams throughout the book to make his points."

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Summary of High Output Management by Andrew S. Grove | Includes Analysis?

Make it longer and add some meat.

Didn't know the audio book was about 5 min long

What's there to say other than don't waste your money or a credit. Cannot say waste your time since it's so darn short.

Not a summary, but a collection of misunderstandings

This audio book was an irritating disappointment. The author grabs the subtitles of Andy Groove’s classic and interprets them using “contemporary examples”. A total misunderstanding of the work and an arrogant reinterpretation of fragments of it. If you can’t make time to read the original, its better to not touch this audio book as it will dissuade you from picking up that classic text in the future.

Probably better to read the book itself

Way too short to really take away without details of the actual book. Maybe just me

Did not summarize book

Sounded more like a summary of the table of contents more than the actual book.

Useless

Don’t buy. I got nothing from this. It is super short. Just read a chapter of the book instead you will probably get more from that.

Top level summary with few takeaways

This review gives a top-level summary of the book, but few actionable takeaways that someone can implement after hearing this summary. This did not serve the purpose of allowing me to learn the key lessons of the book without the full text version.

Far too high level to be useful to me

This is my first instaread book but this felt more useful for high school quiz prep than for business learning/application (the real book isn't on audible). I probably won't buy another...
