Sundial is a new, twisty psychological horror novel from Catriona Ward, internationally bestselling author of The Last House on Needless Street.

You can't escape what's in your blood...

All Rob wanted was a normal life. She almost got it, too: a husband, two kids, a nice house in the suburbs. But Rob fears for her oldest daughter, Callie, who collects tiny bones and whispers to imaginary friends. Rob sees a darkness in Callie, one that reminds her too much of the family she left behind.

She decides to take Callie back to her childhood home, to Sundial, deep in the Mojave Desert. And there she will have to make a terrible choice.

Callie is worried about her mother. Rob has begun to look at her strangely, and speaks of past secrets. And Callie fears that only one of them will leave Sundial alive…

The mother and daughter embark on a dark, desert journey to the past in the hopes of redeeming their future.

"A story where nothing is what it seems—a thrilling hall of mirrors full of deeply disturbing twists. This book will haunt you." —Alex Michaelides, #1 New York Times bestselling author

This book will work better as audiobook because the narrator is outstanding. I found the book utterly disturbing. But definitely worth it. I still maintain that Last House on Needless Street is the author’s best book.

Unnerving but very well written

This is the second book I’ve read by this author. She’s an excellent writer- I love the way she portrays her imagery. This particular book had a very dark undertone to it and it was written excellently. I would recommend this book to others, and will continue to read more of her books.

Very Good Psychological Horror

Dark family secrets, uncertainty of which road you're taking. twists at every turn - this was definitely one I wished I read physically because I would have finished it much faster reading at my own pace.

definitely a must-read for those who love a good thriller.

What a Thriller!

This book was great! It’s a psychological horror, not a supernatural horror, so as expected, it was dark and disturbing with not much ghosts and goblin material. It’s a long book but I finished it in two days, playing it every Chance I could get. Definitely recommend!! Narrator was also excellent and did a great job of portraying the characters

Excellent psychological horror!

The story has lots of twists, mostly female characters and the horror elements were mainly (SPOILER)..... bones, ghost dogs and maggots; and a psychologically disturbing backstory. I wish that the folks who catalogue/categorize books would be more cautious adding horror tags.

A domestic thriller but not much horror
