Publisher's Summary

The original audiobook edition of the acclaimed novel, read by the author!

The Graveyard Book, by Neil Gaiman, has sold more than one million copies and is the only novel ever to win both the Newbery Medal and the Carnegie Medal.

Nobody Owens is an unusual boy who inhabits an unusual place - he's the only living resident of a graveyard. Raised from infancy by the ghosts, werewolves, and other cemetery denizens, Bod has learned the antiquated customs of his guardians' time as well as their ghostly teachings - such as the ability to Fade so mere mortals cannot see him.

Can a boy raised by ghosts face the wonders and terrors of the worlds of both the living and the dead?

Magical, terrifying, and filled with breathtaking adventures, The Graveyard Book is the winner of the Newbery Medal, the Carnegie Medal, the Hugo Award for best novel, the Locus Award for Young Adult novel, the American Bookseller Association's "Best Indie Young Adult Buzz Book", a Horn Book Honor, and Audio Book of the Year.

Phenomenal

The only thing that better the incredible story in this book is Neil Gaiman narrating it. His silky voice breaths life into the words and through subtle voice changes makes you visualize the world that he has created.

An immaculate perspective on life and death will make you fall in love with the characters and their journey.

I highly recommend you embrace this book as you will not be disappointed.

Cozy, loving adventures

I’ve listened to this book dozens, if not hundreds of times both as a kid and as an adult. Neil Gaiman has such a wonderful, soothing voice and his characters are all neurodivergent as hell.

Join Bod as he grows up and stumbles his way through life with the help and understanding of his loving family and friends. I think we all need this kind of support and unconditional acceptance in our lives.

As good as Harry Potter!? I'd say YES!

If you liked Harry Potter you will like this book!

It gave me that same feeling as when I first read Harry Potter; that feeling of being transported into a new word, and the accompanying surprise and captivation by all that it had to offer. With new and interesting and imaginative characters, creatures and villains that all blend together for a story that leaves you wanting more and more.

Despite being a kids novel, I think any demographic will appreciate the writing and imagination here. Gaiman does a fantastic job of narrating the novel and embodying the different characters so that you can see, feel and hear them as though they stood in front of you. Also, the musical interludes between chapters were an unexpected and delightful touch.

This is my first review ever but I feel The Graveyard Book deserves it. I've listened to this audio book twice now and recommend it to everyone with ears that'll listen. I have 20+ Audible books in my library #Audible1 and this book stands out among the rest. I really hope this book takes off and sequal is written soon. Thank you Mr. Gaiman for you wonderful novel, and thank you "reader" for taking the time to read my comment. I really hope you enjoy this novel as much as I did.
