Publisher's Summary

How do you punish an immortal?

By making him human.

After angering his father, Zeus, the god Apollo is cast down from Olympus. Weak and disoriented, he lands in New York City as a regular teenage boy. Now, without his godly powers, the 4,000-year-old deity must learn to survive in the modern world until he can somehow find a way to regain Zeus' favor.

But Apollo has many enemies - gods, monsters, and mortals who would love to see the former Olympian permanently destroyed. Apollo needs help, and he can think of only one place to go...an enclave of modern demigods known as Camp Half-Blood.

What the critics say

"[Narrator] Robbie Daymond is completely charming as the god Apollo.... Apollo is conceited and self-important, but Riordan's funny writing and Daymond's narration make sure the listener is always on his side as he learns how to manage without his godly gifts." (AudioFile)

This was amazing

it's one of my favourite YA series. But the narrator brings it to life in an entirely different way. So wonderful. Highly recommend.

Feels like coming back home

Ever since i discovered the percy jackson and the olympians i always loved and enjoyed rick riordan’s book to be able to return to camp half-blood through the eyes of Apollo and experience it all over again in a new vision is truly amazing, Robbie also became how i hear Apollo now, and no one will change that, his performace truly fit how i got pictured Apollo in my mind, i definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoyed the percy jackson serie

Jesus Christ, Apollo

The title had to have come out of my mouth a dozen times before the end of Chapter 4, however it was in an endearing way. i really enjoyed this one, I am a sucker for anything that will bring ancient Greece or Rome into the story and imo Uncle Rick is one of the bests. the narrator also did a great job, i thoughouly enjoyed this story and reccomend it.

Decent narration, book itself is so so

Robbie’s narration is quite good, I appreciate the calmness and deeper cadence compared to earlier PJO / HoO works, though he does fall flat a little in the sense that there is not a ton of character differentiation besides Meg and Apollo.

Still, not bad to listen to. I wish the story was a bit more entertaining - I’ve heard the series gets much better by the 3rd book but it’s pretty lacklustre so far compared to Heroes. Perhaps it’s because Apollo as Lestor is very annoying… however I have hope for future books :)

Amazing

I enjoy reading the personality and character changes, it’s amazing how much they change and how they grow and learn.

Fun but I do want a different narrator

The story was great and I loved it but the narrative wasn’t that good but I would share it with my friends and family to see what they think of it because I personally loved it

Great perfomance, story not so much

Narrator was great but the story lacked actions and events. I had just finished Percy Jackson and Heroes of Olympus hoping to find a third story as amazing, but got disapointed. It has potential, but I couldn't find myself caring about any of the characters except maybe a little for Apollo. The annoying thing though is that the book spent way too much time inside Apollo's head and not enough on advancing the story. Narrator still did an amazing job and made it enjoyable.

Robbie Daymond is stellar

It took us a while to warm to this series because Apollo starts out truly terrible. But it's the funniest series we have done so far, and has fabulous character development.

Another fun tale in the world of gods and demigods

It is a very entertaining book, capturing the fun and mythos created and recreated in every iteration and variation of Riordan's God and demigod universe. It is nice to see one of the gods getting a down to Earth view of humanity.
