Publisher's Summary

Rowan and Citra take opposite stances on the morality of the Scythedom, putting them at odds, in the chilling sequel to the Printz Honor Book Scythe from New York Times best seller Neal Shusterman, author of the Unwind dystology.

The Thunderhead cannot interfere in the affairs of the Scythedom. All it can do is observe — it does not like what it sees.

A year has passed since Rowan had gone off grid. Since then, he has become an urban legend, a vigilante snuffing out corrupt scythes in a trial by fire. His story is told in whispers across the continent.

As Scythe Anastasia, Citra gleans with compassion and openly challenges the ideals of the "new order". But when her life is threatened and her methods questioned, it becomes clear that not everyone is open to the change.

Will the Thunderhead intervene?

Or will it simply watch as this perfect world begins to unravel?

Oh... oh, my.

This trilogy is the culmination of all human awesomeness. Let us rejoice in knowing the great Thunderhead has bestowed such knowledge upon us, and remember, all that reverberates forth eventually echoes back.

Another good book

This book was better than the first one. This serie is big on political intrigue and I love it for it. Greg Tremblay did an amazing job. His nuance and tones make for some great varity of characters(males and females). At some point he was able to mix 2 character voices so perfectly I was shock. I ll be sure to check the other books he narrate.

These headings aren't optional

This book ends with three cliffhangers and no resolution. I enjoyed it but feel that it was only split into another book so that they could sell another book and not because it makes for a better story.

#Audible1 Good narration

#Audible1
The narrator did a good job of modifying his cadence and pitch to suit different characters without making it jarring or irritating. Not an easy balance to find as far as narration goes.
Story was engaging and poses some intriguing philosophical questions.

read book 1 first

If you read this book (which is book 2 in the arc of the scythe series) without reading book 1, you won't like it. Otherwise this is the best in young adult light fun, well-paced reading with plot twists and turns and surprises.

Still super engaged!

I'm still blown away by this story and this futuristic world. I am smitten by the Thunder Head himself and cannot wait to complete the series. And again the narrator knocks it out of the park, his various voices and accents makes these books come to life! So excited to complete this story! On to the conclusion.

So many twists and turns

For a world where immortality is normalized and death is seldom present, every development is astounding and shocking. Thunderhead gives the Scythe universe multiple new, beautiful layers to this world. It's impeccably written and performed to justice.
