Publisher's Summary

What would happen if a top expert with more than 30 years of leadership experience were willing to distill everything he had learned about leadership into a handful of life-changing principles just for you? It would change your life.

John C. Maxwell has done exactly that in The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership. He has combined insights learned from his 30-plus years of leadership successes and mistakes with observations from the worlds of business, politics, sports, religion, and military conflict. The result is a revealing study of leadership delivered as only a communicator like Maxwell can.

Outdated, but still had some gems.

First, I applaud you for looking into leadship audiobooks! I appreciate you for wanting to improve yourself so that you may improve others.

I struggled with a few sections of this book. While there were great organizational and inspirational tips in the material, some areas read like a "Prosperity Gospel" sermon while others sounded self-promotional. Also, it was noticeable in some areas that it was written by someone raised in an older generation and by someone who might be out of touch with today's workplace. I would still give it a listen because you can still help hone (or even generate new) skills. But, just like with any book, be cautious and use discernment while reading and/or listening.

Interesting, not actionable

Maybe I being too harsh, but the book reads much more like a series of successes and failures throughout history. Biggest impact is just thinking of yourself as a leader.

I’m glad I read it once, doubt I’ll read again.

Great to get you started or refresh your skills

I didn’t like the law of sacrifice but everything else was great . I seen too many leaders develop cancer or lose their family over this law.

This will NOT be a one and done

Will be coming back here to re-read and re-listen often. Every one of these rules needs repetition, review and deeper study.

Incredible leadership book

This book is an absolute textbook of how to be a leader. John Maxwell summarizes his decades of leadership experience in this book. He goes over many concepts that he’s talked about in his other books. The book is short and to the point. Excellent questions excellent examples and very convicting I will certainly read it again.
