Publisher's Summary

"Call of the Wild" is the story of Buck, a magnificent dog who is stolen from his idyllic life and sold for use on a Yukon dogsled team. His travels are not only of a physical nature, as he learns hard discipline from men who must discipline their dog teams, but his own journey back to his primordial roots in the frozen tundra - the roots of wolf. This amazing story of transformation is beautifully written and provides a glimpse of the hard life in the Yukon Territory during the 1900s.

Good value audiobook

This is an excellently priced audiobook. In my opinion, there are better narrators around but this narrator is just fine for this book.

Classic story from the perspective of the dog

But nothing fantastical, everything believable, and a great story told with a deep rumbling voice.

Great!

I didn't think I'd care for this story, but it only forty-seven cents, so I figured I had nothing much to lose. But it was actually really good, it held my interest, and I enjoy the narrator's voice (I've listened to three books read by him now, and he's my favorite so far!).
Viva Buck!!!!!

The mind of an animal

As a dog owner this was great. It gave me a possible glimpse into the nature in it and in ourselves too.

hate the narrator

I was really excited to listen to one of my favorite books from my childhood, but the narrator doesn't seem to be speaking in sentences at all, almost like an automated computer is reading. I didn't even make it 5 minutes in. I tried skipping ahead, but it was just as bad. Pick a different version of this book!

Classic and timeless

Excellent story that I could read/listen to over and over.

Narration was okay but a lot like AM Radio quality.
