Dish up the red meat, eggs, and whole milk! In this well-researched and captivating narrative, veteran food writer Nina Teicholz proves how everything we've been told about fat is wrong. For decades, Americans have cut back on red meat and dairy products full of "bad" saturated fats. We obediently complied with nutritional guidelines to eat "heart healthy" fats found in olive oil, fish, and nuts, and followed a Mediterranean diet heavy on fruits, vegetables, and grains. Yet the nation's health has declined. What is going on?

Story
We all know the dangers of sugar and salt: but the danger attributed to the second white crystal has more to do with getting too little of it, not too much. Too little salt can shift the body into semi-starvation mode, causing insulin resistance, and may even cause twice as much fat to be absorbed for every gram that's consumed. Too little salt in certain populations can also actually increase blood pressure as well as resting heart rate.

The most influential religious historian of the 20th century, Huston Smith, once referred to it as the "best-kept secret" in history. Did the Ancient Greeks use drugs to find God? And did the earliest Christians inherit the same, secret tradition? A profound knowledge of visionary plants, herbs, and fungi passed from one generation to the next? The Immortality Key is a groundbreaking dive into the role psychedelics have played in the origins of Western civilization, and the real-life quest for the Holy Grail that could shake the Church to its foundations.

Or been told that being obese is healthy, that there is no such thing as biological sex, or that only White people can be racist? Are you confused by these ideas, and do you wonder how they have managed to challenge the logic of Western society? In this probing volume, Helen Pluckrose and James Lindsay document the evolution of the dogma that informs these ideas, from its coarse origins in French postmodernism to its refinement within activist academic fields.

Publisher's Summary
In the tradition of best sellers like The Plant Paradox and The Keto Reset Diet, The Carnivore Code reveals the shocking truth about so-called healthy foods and presents a complete program to reclaim your health with the true ancestral diet
We are living longer than ever before, but we aren’t living better - millions of people suffer from diseases like diabetes, depression, joint pain, heart disease, and autoimmune illnesses. Millions more have tried and failed to lose weight and keep it off. If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone. And you know how frustrating and disheartening it is to cycle through diets, treatment plans, and prescriptions that provide little relief - and may actually add to your suffering.
There is a better way, and it starts with the food you eat. The carnivore diet is scientifically proven to reduce inflammation, improve sleep, reduce joint pain, improve mental clarity, and help you lose weight. Dr. Paul Saladino has experienced the incredible benefits of a meat-based diet firsthand and has helped hundreds of patients transform their health using his diet plan.
In this groundbreaking book, Dr. Saladino reveals the shocking truth about foods we’re told are essential for good health, like whole grains, plants, and leafy greens. He dismantles those myths one by one and reveals the healing potential of an all-meat diet: the diet our bodies were designed to eat. With step-by-step guidance, complete with sample meal plans and frequently asked questions, The Carnivore Code is the only plan you need to experience the incredible benefits of the carnivore diet for yourself.

Trouble is, I just finished "Mastering Diabetes" written by equally impressive guys, same plethora of scientific studies to back up their hypothesis aaaaaaand diametrically opposed to everything proposed in this book. "Bro, read the Big Fat Surprise"
The author read The Big Fat Surprise, which is a fantastic book that tells the story of how we got into this predicament. Gorging ourselves on carbs and vegetable oils, shunning saturated fats whilst dieing of cancer and heart disease. This book is basically a retelling of that story, with the addition of the author's brand of bro-speak. "strap in for the next chapter" "live a radical life". There are additions. Mostly telling us how every vegetable that grows on this planet will kill us as well. Which is fine. Or it would be if the author didn't have such an obvious agenda. Surely there much be a redeeming quality to at least one vegetable. Avocado? Raspberry? Give me something. I didn't mind the actual meat of the book (no pun intended). There was a lot of useful information. I was just so put off by the injections of the author's "personality" and flair. I suggest doing what the author did and read the source material. if you plan to go pure carnivore, maybe just wait for his inevitable cook book.

A nutrtionalist must read/listen!
Dedication to logic, research and facts Dr. Paul Saladino ties us back to our roots with modern understanding. The behaviours of our ancestors links us to the past to restructure our present away from mainstream fantasies of "common knowledge" about our diets. Mr. Saladino might ploy his take on a carnivore diet is groundbreaking, but like all great epics, they're built on the backs of giants. Saturated fats have always been good for us, high quality meats are our top tier foods and animals are part of the health of an ecosystem. It's been our bioengineering of our landscapes that have changes the way we behave, eat and our relationship with food. Great work Paul, this book is what the world needs.

Inspirational and Thought-provoking
Paul Saladino takes you on a phenomenal adventure understanding our ancestral dietary roots. I learned a lot about the biochemistry, and the chemical warfare that occurs in our bodies when we consume plants vs. meats as food. Listening to this audiobook inspired me to become a carnivore, and I thoroughly recommend and advocate joining the Carnivore Tribe. I suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder, and switching to this diet has honestly reduced my depressive symptoms from the Winter Blues. The physical and mental health benefits of a carnivore diet are incredible.

Excellent - issues with PDF
This is a fantastic resource for anyone wanting to dive into the science and anthropological evidence for an animal based diet. I started a nose-to-tail "carnivore-ish" diet when I started listing to this book, and I lost 7 lbs before I was done listening to it (1 week). Dr. Saladino's podcast is also a must listen for anyone wanting more. I highly recommend this book. It's a little heavy on the science, which is fantastic, but may be overwhelming for some. I'm an anthropology student so this was right up my alley. My one complaint is that the accompanying PDF is all sorts of wrong. None of the graphics that Dr. Saladino tells you to reference throughout the audiobook are in the PDF. The PDF I was given appears to just be a random excerpt from the book. It starts with a cut-off sentence, and includes just the FAQ's section, appendices and bibliography. It's a bit of a bummer, because he references a chart that grades plant foods on a continuum of toxicity. He doesn't go into great detail on this in the audiobook, and since I can't reference it in the PDF, it's valuable information that's lost to me. All in all, this is a fantastic resource and it answered every question I've ever had about carnivore diets.

Terrible useless book. Paul Saladino is a fraud
TERRIBLE! This is the most useless book I’ve read on the carnivore diet. This fraudster Paul Saladino aka “carnivore md” recommends honey, yams and fruit!! Hey Paul, this is the carnivore diet! His voice is very annoying and his inflated ego comes out in his voice. Avoid this book if you want to learn about The Carnivore Diet. This has nothing but fear and lies. He also heavily pushes his supplements. Avoid this book. Don’t waste your time or money

I feel better!
I am sick and willing to try any diet/lifestyle that can help. I’ve now been eating this way for just a short time, 5 days but was low carb/keto for 4 months before that and gluten-free for 10yrs before that. I feel GREAT! Since starting I’ve been sleeping again, 8-11hrs a night! Not done that since my teen yrs and I’m in my 60’s so that’s a huge improvement. Makes so much sense that plants would use chemical defenses against those that would harm/eat them...after all they cannot run, hide, bite,etc...This is a great book and the author/doctor reads his own book and he’s a good reader!
