Celestine Prophecy read by Lou Diamond Phillips

At first I thought it was a little cheesy to have a man switch his voice to how he interpreted a woman would sound but by the end I was able to know which character was speaking even without an introduction. Consistency was great and he was excellent with the accents for demonstrations of people from a diverse background and countries.

Powerful Material

The personal/spiritual development potential that The Celestine Prophecy introduces is very tangible and easily understood. I am so grateful for this beautifully crafted story. For those with an open mind and heart, this is an absolute MUST.
The insights are life transforming- if we choose to embrace them.
Conscious evolution is finally described in a graspable fashion for those new to the world of realized human potential. Thank you!

nice principles but story a little annoying

Any additional comments?

I read this book many years ago and thought it was great. Now, listening to it, it was a little disappointed. The principles and ideas of the book are nice, but the story tries to be an exciting adventure, which for me didn't work.

GREAT READ

Within his concept, the author has put together truths within ourselves about who we are and the way we react to the world and relationships. It is tied together with a story revolving around spiritually which left me with a feeling of hope. High reccomendation for this book.

Marginally entertaining story if read as a parable

A marginally entertaining reflection on the authors personal spirituality in the form of a parable.

I largely agree with a common criticism that the plot is poorly developed.

Many people may be able to relate to some of the "Insights" within the tale. Early on, I thought I was able to find relate-able material myself. Unfortunately, about half way through, I found the book fell short of making a memorable connection. As the plot started to fall apart and as I found myself suspending my ability to believe in the story, I lost interest in my already tenuous connection with the characters.

The better of the 2!

Don't waste your time with the other one! This Lou Diamond Phillips narated version is 10X better, in my opinion. Thank you for doing this right, and thank you Lou for your time. It's a wonderful book, and will change your life!

Great spiritual story

Although a little contrived (in a simpler way than Davinci Code), an enjoyable and inpiring read (listen).

enlightening and entertaining

This book is both enlightening and entertaining as it assists me to see how to better listen to my higher self as the coincidences and encounters of my life experience take on a deeper meaning.

I first read this book in 2006 and have made a practice of engaging in a daily routine of increasing my awareness through study and connecting with the supreme from within. As I listened to the book this time, I especially appreciated the segment on interacting with kids. Giving them all the energy they require and assisting them to complete their circle of both sides of gender is fascinating and something I am now accountable to for my 3 young daughters.

Excellent

This is one of my favorite books of all time. I love the Narrator, but I think that the production was a bit too much with the dramatic music and the inserted laughter after "he laughed". It could have done without that. That made it a bit cheesy. And this book is so spectacular it really didn't need the added theatrics.

However, this is a must-listen or read for everyone!
