Publisher's Summary

He was the friendly, baby-faced, Canadian boy next door. He came from a loving, caring, and well-respected family. Blessed with good looks and back-woods country charm, he was popular with his peers, and although an accident at birth left permanent nerve damage in one of his arms, he excelled in sports. A self-proclaimed "die hard" Calgary Flames fan, he played competitive junior hockey and competed on his school's snowboarding team. And he enjoyed the typical simple pleasures of a boy growing up in the country: camping, hunting, and fishing with family and friends. But he also enjoyed brutally murdering women, and he would become one of the youngest serial killers in Canadian history.

From the best-selling author of The Vampire Next Door: The True Story of The Vampire Rapist, John Crutchley.

This is the sixth book in the Crimes Canada: True Crimes That Shocked the Nation collection.

Horrific Narration

I honestly feel bad for the author because of the narrator. This book is getting terrible reviews because of him. I’m only 30 min into this book and it’s unbearable. This guy narrating is worse than William Shatner and Christopher Walken combined. He can’t go two words without pausing for a breath. It’s so utterly choppy and extremely painful to listen to. If I could return this book, I would.

NARRATOR KILLS THE STORY

What made the experience of listening to The Country Boy Killer: True Story of Cody Legebokoff, Canada's Teenage Serial Killer the most enjoyable?

It was about a local and familiar case.

What was most disappointing about JT Hunter’s story?

The NARRATOR... it was so very painful to sit through his broken sentences- it was all I could do NOT to turn it off... I actually kept looking at the minutes remaining in the story whenever he would pause and pick up the sentence on the next line down.... It was read like a grade 7 student was put on the spot in front of a classroom and forced to read an awkward essay... PAINFUL TO SIT THROUGH.

Would you be willing to try another one of Don Kline’s performances?

NEVER.... NEVER EVER... I also bought another serial killer audiobook and was so glad that this one was over to start a new narrator, but when I started to play the next audiobook, it was HIM AGAIN, as if he was haunting my road trip!!! I don't understand how he got hired to do this kind of work... it's seriously wrong.

Where is the drama?

I didn't care for the way this story was presented. It all seems too dry, told with out emotion.
