Story
Hardcore Self Help: F**k Depression is the follow-up to the best-selling F**K Anxiety. In this book I take the information, tips, and insights that I have gained as a psychologist and translate them into language that doesn't suck. This is the self-help book for people who don't usually like self-help books. In Hardcore Self Help: F**K Depression, I talk to you like a friend. That means I speak directly to you, without psychobabble. Instead I tell you why your brain is such a troll.

Publisher's Summary
In the past decade, depression rates have skyrocketed, and one in four Americans will suffer from major depression at some point in their lives. Where have we gone wrong? Dr. Stephen S. Ilardi sheds light on our current predicament and reminds us that our bodies were never designed for the sleep-deprived, poorly nourished, frenzied pace of 21st-century life.
Inspired by the extraordinary resilience of aboriginal groups like the Kaluli of Papua New Guinea, Dr. Ilardi prescribes an easy-to-follow, clinically proven program that harks back to what our bodies were originally made for and what they continue to need. The Depression Cure program has already delivered dramatic results, helping even those who have failed to respond to traditional medications.

TLC method presented with action plan
The narrator was easy to listen to and the material was well organized.
The suggested lifestyle changes are well explained and then the book gives actionable steps to put them into practice.
I can't review the success of the method as I haven't put them into practice yet but it does make sense that they would be effective. Will update once I have.

Gives a roadmap to the wide expanse of information written on Depression.
I really enjoyed Stephen S. Ilardi candid scientific factually based information with expression of his own learnings from his own experience and expertise in his field on Depression. His real examples of what Depression feels inside of those who posses it is a relief to read and to be identified, seen for what Depression really is. I love his approach to look at all his patients and others research with the main view, does it work to reduce or cure Depression and not just take a pill. I agree whole heartedly with his research, that we live a lifestyle that opens the door wide for Depression to come in and make themselves a permanent resident of our bodies and minds. He gives easy explanations with scientific backed facts of how to clean house in our minds and bodies and evict Depression.
Thank you for passionately caring and sharing and putting yourself out there to make a difference in people lives! I know your work has greatly encouraged myself and my family to live the 6 steps to Cure Depression!
